Morne Steyn's defense deficiencies.

There has been some question marks about Morne's defenses and his tendency to miss tackles.   In the Ellis Park test last year it was glaringly clear as is eidenced by the following:-

In that test his missed tackle ratio was  36,36%.   That constant discussions on this site indicates Mporne does not have a defense deficiency.   However, that does not sound correct -

*   in the RC tests last year his average missed tackle ratio was 19,5%; 

*   in the EOYT tests last year it was 25%; and 

*   in the first Welsh test it was 40%

Now lets look at the test yesterday - here are the stats:-

Yesterday Morne missed 46.67% of all attempted tackles.   The missed tackle ratio seems to be  constantly increasing and that creates a major problem in defnese in the channel.   

If there is one thing to be corrected it is to ensure we have a relia ble defender as a flyhalf.

 ...Not sure who missed that tackle on Horne but that was the clincher... remember that it will be Julian Savea running down that wing next week...then again he will exploit any defensive deficiencies when he busts up the centre as well...

...Savea's on his home ground so I suggest you mark him very carefully...Steyn is probably having nightmares already about Wellington...ABs keeping the Boks guessing whether it's Cruden or Barret starting...either way ABs to win by 20 plus...
