Morne Steyn set a new record for Stade Francais

In the game in Top 14 the previous weekend Morne played for 3 minutes coming from the bench - the past weekend he had 10 minutes playing time.   He is coining it sitting on the bench - that type of thing is why perhaps Stade Francais has financial problems.

 That's not morne's fault - he is doing what any sane person would do.  He makes a nice nest-egg.  Blame the management of SF for being ass-holes in investing in a lame duck.

 He has not yet managed to sustain an injury before the game has started.......

 They bought a shirt instead of a player, as it is the case for many SA players hired in the NH.

As long as they attract people to the stadium and sell tickets... maybe not.

Apparently, he is being used in an advert to sell benches. :"Even Morne finds them comfort able"...

 

 He's Steyn afloat just nicely

One of the more interesting stories in the rugby world this past week was the 'rich list' published by a French newspaper which has Morne Steyn as South Africa’s top paid player overseas.

 Good luck to him - he must collect as much money as possible from the French and do as little as possible for the money.   No wonder the club is b eing sold off as being bankrupt.  

 At least he plays for his club once in a while, unlike a certain player who has "retired" band then miraculously reappeared on his club's squad lists, yet he still features in your lists of potential Bok teams. 

 ...and yet Coetzee though him worthy of a recall last year. Kind of says a lot about old Toetie doesn't it?

Lets explain the difference between Goosen and Morne.  Morne cannot pass balls without it being hospital passes, he never attacks the gain line and his defense is poor.   His only asset is he is a good kicker at goal,   His kicks out of hand is inaccurate and he has a distinction of commentators saying his kicks are BS.   
Goosen is a vastly different real rugby player - unlike Morne he never stands so deep in the pocket that he cannot initiate backline play.  Goosen is good in attacking play as his try scoring and try-assists record proves and his passing game is good as well.    His defense is sound.   And he has one asset Morne would never achieve - Goosen was Player's Player of the Year last year.
Morne has no ball sense - he cannot read the game and take decisions.   Goosen is a thinking player and can take options in games.    Hence Morne lose games for any team he plays in.  
So there you have it Goosen is a rugby player - Morne a kicking donkey.   Understand it now?
