Everything he done today was completely terribale.

-His Goal kick was useless. Janjies should have come on and taken over.

-His positional play was terribale. When ever both scrumhalfs got the ball out of the ruck- they had to look all over the place to find him. Usually it was directly behind - way behind the advantage line. On 2 occasions it looked like he was positioning himself for drop kicks, but then ran it. In the best attacking moves after a few phases, the attack was better without him in the line or neat the ball. I thought in the first 2 tests- he had his best attacking games I have seen from him. Tonight he was terribale.

Should have brought Janjies on- and tried some other players for this dead rubber.

Morne Steyn .....kicked 13 times/ passed 19 times and ran 8 times. He gained more metres than Olivier and made all 6 of his tackles. Farrell by contrast missed 2 of his 6 tackles, and made all of 3 metres.

That is a simplistic interpretation. Making more metres than your inside center- if having more like more than 80% of possesion- is not a like for like comparsion. If you get passed the ball 10 times to every 1- for your inside center, it is impossibale to not makes more meters.

Not that comparing against a usually crap inside center is any yard stock anyway. Basically he stood way to deep on any attacking ball - any other Super15 flyhalf would have played much better.

How many of his 13 kicks were good- maybe 2 at best?, his passes were all rubish, and well his running I cant even remember them- oh wait I do remember him standing directly behind the scrum half seeming for drop goals that he never attempted- absolute rubish.

This was probably his worst performance for the boks ever. I am not usually a fan of his, however  I was impressed with his last 2 games for the boks on attack.

Would it help if I told you Olivier carried the ball three times more than Morne? The whole premise of your response shows a poor grasp. How likely is it that a flyhalf is going to shoulder more of the heavy traffic running than an inside centre? Wise up.

As for his kicks, how many were bad? Two that I recall. And he was behind the scrums waiting to drop with his captain's and coach's concurrence....they wanted the highest likelyhood of a win, which in the closing minutes was thought to be a drop. Morne was simply executing team strategy, even if unsuccessfully.

Henieke Meyers comments about the form of Steyn shared with the PE crowd- “Morne is a worry at the moment and we know he isn’t playing well at the moment. I thought he played quite well in the previous two games, it was just his kicking that was off".

Moz and sharkbok I canned myself re comments made on SS board (SS  super shithouse board for those who dont know) A mong there was trying to argue that if morne missed a kick or got one over it so altered the future that it was impssible to predict what would happen. This is because a missed kick resulted in a drop out from the 22 and a conversion from the halfway.

It wasleft to the ultimate mong bedpan to tell them that missing goala kicks was not a good thing! If Morne had not missed 5 kicks we would have won by more. But if Morne had kicked one over the game woud have restarted from the halfway line and then who could then tell what would happen. The fact that Morne kicking goals at 20% rather than 8 % is detrimental escaped these mongs!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The "debate" went on for pages with poor ou bedpan trying to convince them that getting your kicks over must help your cause.

I am afraid there are few left at super sithouse board who know much about rugby. BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA truly the daftest stuff from these losers!

Morne was pathetic as he has been all series, anyone who sees anything positive in his play is either stupid or needs their eyes tested.

He was so bad he was being booed by his supporters - case closed, drop the guy once and for all and let Bok rugby move on from mediocrity

Saffex

I thought that Morne was the main reason why our backline was neutralized - and mentioned in advance that him and Olivier combined was a serious gamble that wwould not come off.   Morne's main problem is that he has no real idea about options and he uses th wrong ones constantly.    He to my mind lacked in ball sense throughout his career and that is an essential element of flyhalf play.

The other thing was he was completely out of the picture when Pienaar passed the ball to Pietrsen for his try - if he was involved it never would have been a try.

What can I say about Morne - that was not said by Meyer?    I gave him 6 points for both those tests - but this time around his game was poorer than poor despite Mozart's comments.     I looked at the game gain and was further depressed by his poor performance.

Looking at the game a second time I was disappointed more than before.   However, there were other problems around and Kruger on th bench was the main one.  Another disappointment was Strauss he clearly was out of depth missing three of the five tackles that he should have made.   Definitely a problem here.

I think Meyer realizes that he is not really a good selection and that may be the end of his international career.
