I agree with every one on your list, barring Skinstad and I’d add
KitshoffGoosenSpiesJantjiesKriel.
Most unjustifiably hyped would be a toss up between Kolisi and Watson.

Actually, upon review of those names, I'll remove Skinstad from my list. The man could actually play! Goosen, how did I forget the Golden Goose. Almost Lambie-like for hype, but thankfully it died out rather quickly. Jantjies is another. Kriel another. Spies was a good Bok. I think he got much better after the 2008 Super Rugby campaign. He was an abomination in 2006 and 2007, which was when the hype was at its peak . He single-handedly tanked the Bok's 100th anniversary against Ireland with outlandishly reckless defending. He became a very good Bok, tightening up his game, but he never ever matched that reputation, which was starting to become ridiculous at one point (destined to be Bok of the century, not much unlike the hype surrounding Steph du Rush-out-of-the-line-like-a-slow-rhino du Toit).

Pierre Spies had 2 good years when he was a powerhouse. Afterwards, he was pathetic and lived off past reputation for ages. He started poorly and ended even worse. In the end, most cheerleaders had more power than this pretender.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Francois Hougaard was like a clown playing rugby at test-level rugby - a bumbling fool that tripped over his own feet. A prop might have been more effective.
Derick Hougaard was another useless waste of space at test level. An inferior clone to Naas Botha.
Trevor Halstead was another waster. The most one-dimensional crash ball to ever play the game

Not saying any of the players on my list are bad players, they just haven't lived up to the impossible hype placed on them by the blowhard WP "kenners".

How the hell did Steven Kitzhoff make it on to this thread? He is unbelievable! A touch of bias and winding up from moz I suspect. Skinstad was also a good player. A few short memories here. To me, over rated means that much was expected. So I’d leave pagel, koster, sea fountain and co off this list as I don’t really think there was much expectation from them. Top of my list was that useless hulking athlete called Pierre Spies. My God he disappointed a lot of people.

Doesn't sit well that players who are in the middle of their careers are being picked.

Looking at Mozart's list there is only one player I do not rate as suitable for the list and that is AJ Venter.
AO's list is the thinking of a complete rugby idiot.   He specializes in it,  Dream up nonsense and come up with BS.

I always know when I have hit a nerve. All that remains is the spite post. Whenever a Meyer post emerges, I know I left the poor dears in tears. The next level from that is the "Raisins wai AO arez stoopidz idiot thinker" thread.

AO

If you want to get a response make a reasonable statement even dealing with Meyer,   Then you will get a reasonable response at which you can also laugh.  To make totally idiotic statements would inevitably lead to you being idiotic yourself.

The situation is plain and simple.  limit references to Meyer as coach to factual issues and not imagi ned opinions on Erasmus and Meyer.
