Mozart - you are as per normal onto your Du Toit affliction.   Stop it and we can discuss rugby issues.   The player who did best in that position today was Wiese;

I am impressed by Kobus van Dyk who replaced Wiese. Is nice and mobile and has physicalty. Weighs in at a respectable 111kg.

Wiese is 116 kg and not as mobile

Beeno

Both Wiese and Van Dyk were better than Mostert today,   Both played against arguably the strongest team in the competition and showed some class.   I would rather play Van Dyk at 8 and Wiese at 7,    That would be a vast improvement on Carr at 8,

Mozart is as per normal on his anti-Du Toit BS campaign.

Mostert surprised me at 7. I didn't think he'd adjust so quickly.

Definitely an option to consider the rest of the season.

Not so sure about a test blindside flank though.

Maybe. Would like to see him there a lot more before I decide.

" Both played against the strongest team in the competition."

I have fixed your statement Mike, had an extra word that wasn't needed when your describing the Mighty Crusaders

CF

I am not entirely ure about that yet,   The Crusaders have an excellent backline - but they also have some deficiencies amongst their forwards.   That does not make me entirely happy - the Stormers was weak and not the strongest opponents they still have to meet.

Once  Moody, Franks and Read are back we will be a lot stronger. Considering how weakened our front row is at the moment I felt we did a good enough job and can win enough ball against any other team.

Bigger concern is Mo'unga out for 2 months

The Stormers are pathetic so far. They are continuing from where they left off last season.

We were all told that the hidings they were getting last year would stand them in good stead and that they would be the better for it this year.

Maybe they need more Jaguar types to play against cause anything with a little talent simply cleans them up.

I'll keep holding thumbs.

Ou maaaaike Van Dyk at 8 and Wese at 7 with Kolisi at 6 sounds really great to me however the Stormers are the most quota conscious team around. Witness how they choose their wings. Look at what happened to Huw Jones versus the useless De Jongh. Or witness what happened to Van Wyk who moved to the  sharks.

I cant believe Fleck s so stupid he would play these mdgets. Surely after the Fiasco against the Crusaders senalta has shown he cannot cut it n the 15 man code.

Wee cc is at his ignorant best with his comments about the Stormers. The Stormers outplayed the Crusaders for 60 minutes  as the stats and the scoreboard showed. Unfortunately being 26 -0 down after only 20 minutes was too much to claw back. The Stormers pack gave the pap old crusts a lesson. That they did this without the worlds best lock Eben, Bongi, Malherbe, Du Toit injured etc is remarkable. They did this also without a flyhalf, their best scrumhalf missing and poor selections on the wing.

The old crustt looked pap to me once the Stormers had settled down.

The Crusaders are a balanced team...they use 15 men which play balanced and well coordinated rugby with little or no silly errors...last game they made uncharacteristic errors...that does not happen often...

The Stormers are a lop-sided team...backline chaotic...lol the forwards, including props score all the tries....bahahahahahaha.

The Lions are getting it right and the Bulls seem to be improving but the Sharks are still a toss of the coin but the Stormers balance is just awful. One or 3 or 4 are maybe really good but it is all out of tune.

Come now, BeanDip ... they were running around like headless chickens most of the match ... as the scoreboard clearly shows.

I'm afraid that was a hiding ... from any angle

You are starting to sound like Alister Coetzee.

Beeno

That is where things go wrong,   Qoutas do not win games and losing teams find the pavilions empty.    The weakest positions in the Stormers are all filled by quota players - eg the wings and the loosies,

Kolisi is just what he is - a quota pick and Carr was the worst loosie in display yesterday - even the Cheetahs loosies were better.

I have nothing against players of colour - but to select them on the basis of race is just BS.  I fully believe in merit selection and the only real merit selection is in fact Willemse.

Careful what you write about De Jongh - Mozart will have a mozartitis attack - he supported De Jongh all out for years and constantlly wanted De Jongh and Fat Fransie as the Springbok center combination after the retirement of De Villiers.   .

Ou maaaikie Dr Moz disagree on players at times but I have always liked Moz. Your animus towards Moz gets out of hand at times.

I can li ve with Kolisi

I must agree with you, Mike. Kolisi is a quota and by the sounds of things will be gifted the Bok 6 jersey under Rassie ... in fact I wouldn't be surprised to see he's been made Bok captain.

We have at least 4 better openside flanks that this useless welfare case.

Kriel, Cloete, Smit and Kwagga ... not to mention Lappies who has also shown himself to be rather skilled at playing to ground.

This is typical BS caught from the media - the hype is unbelievable and caught by some of our members,    I watched the game and saw none of the high work rate of Mostert.

My own impression is confirmed by the ESPB stats which are as follows:-

Pass ball            -      1

Ball carries        -      5

Meters gained    -     10 meters

Line breaks        -      1

Defenders beaten  -   0

Off loads               -    1

Ball possession loss  -  1

Tackles made          -    8

Tackles missed       -     1

I will now for comparison purposes give you the stats of Wiese of the Stormers who played at 7 against a much stronger team than the Bulls as well-

Try assists         -      1

Pass ball            -      3

Ball carries        -      14

Meters gained    -     59 meters

Line breaks        -      3

Defenders beaten  -   4

Off loads               -    0

Ball possession loss  -  1

Tackles made          -   15

Tackles missed       -     1

The above statistical data is confirmed by Foxsport who gave Mostert 24 performance points and gave Wiese 61 such points.

Wiese was a high work rate player - Mostert nothing of he sort.   This remarks almost sound like the hype of Alberts of past years - absolute hype without substance.  Rassie will look at the stats and he is likely to say - not good enough.

Mozart

What about ESPN stats?   They are suddenly not applicable anymore?   This remind me of the stupid comments made by you about Alberts and Fat Fransie in the past.

So you really want to tell me that performance-wise Mostert performed better at 7 against a weaker team than Wiese did at 7 against a stronger team?   If you do, please motivate your reasoning.
