This happen to be a thread dealing with Matfiekd and Kallis.
You are at liberty to throw in Morne Steyn - a ten times worse defender than Goosen - and clueless about reading of games to boot.  
But please stick to the  topic under discussion - you will onle embarrass yourself further by diverting from it.  

 Ten times worse, yet has produced 100% more tackles

Please provide the evidence for this claim.

 Mike, I really can't believe how large Mozart looms in your life....it's frightening.

 I do not think a back injury that precented him from bowling should also remove his batting abilities.   I quite frankly think he should call it a day insofar as ODI cicket is concr rned.

What exactly is "hard" Sheza?...the fact that you and Mike are intellectually challenged and that both of you are found wanting?

 

And no he's not a weasel, I've met him and his fine wife, he had the decency to welcome me into his home while I was holidaying Cape Town and I can assure you that he is a decent person.

 

About the worse you can say is that he loves a good old fashion argie bargie which at times can be good fun and also breathes life into a boring forum. I've posted with him on several different forums and I've never seen him hurl abuse or use foul language against anyone no matter how bitter the arguement. His generosity continues through donations to several charities for the needy and underpriviledged.

 

I can also honestly say that I've never met a more loyal forum buddy.

 

Back to the bowler Shezza...that's my innings and I'm sticking.

Geez den....I like Argie Bargie...what gave you that idea! It should all be in fun, but occasionally it's good to have  a mate who has your back.  Thanks for that.

I must say that I agree with Denny...Mozart is an entertaining poster and an individualist that has a good sense of humour...never hear profanities from him. Might not always agree on his selections but in a sense he is intelligent and a decent bloke.

He is generally outspoken but that is not necessary a bad thing and he is a gentleman with good taste

I m aware of the fact that Kallis was put into the team for the Sri Lanka series as a batsman - not as a bowler.   He has had a back injury and underwent a fitness test - during which it was found that he could bat without any problem - but should not bowl.
That being the case it was decided to proceed with him as a batter and he was also  given less strenuous fielding positions as well.  The objective was to see how things go in the batting department.   
This as the start of a process to see whether Kallis is still good enough to play in the 2015 WC.   The indications were that his batting was not good enough and even Kepler Wessels said that he is not likely to make the grade.   I suppose that the process may continue through the enxt series of ODI's against Zimbabwe - but if he then still do not really make an impact - he is likely to be left out of the squad in future.
Kallis is rightfully so highly respected by everyone and his wish to take art n the 2015 was respected through his inclusion in the ODI squad.   However, I d not think he really was good enough in ODI's over the past two years.   He in fact gave up on ODI participation in 2012 to concentrate on test participation.  Did play in a few ODI's in 2013- which we all lost in and then made his test cricket retirement announcement and express his wish to keep on playing and the expression of his wish to play in the 2015 WC.
The fear always was that he would not get enough playing time to continue with his career so he layed for the Kolkatta Knight Riders in the IPL.  Was very good in the first match and then faded out.   In the end he was not selected to represent the relevant side.
After this series I think Kallis himself will announce his retirement from all forms of cricket or he may continue t play for the Cape Cobras in local competition.        

Victor and Jacques....man talk about sporting heroes. Probably the finest we have produced in 50 years. Yes I like these chaps....but one day they will have to retire. Still,  to quote Aragorn at the Black Gate...."it is not this day"

Definitely were heroes and nice quote - but this day was between a year and three years ago.  At this stage they are spoiling their wonderful reputations by staying past their sell- by dates.
