Oh they WILL be in the Springbok team and they ARE in the training group...So I think you are confused because cause no one cares about your bashing and knocking of these players.

I don't care whether they are in the squad - as long as they are nowhere near the Springbok team. Steyn had handed over ball possession to the opposition 16 times and gave away 13 penalties. That is not good enough to be in the Springbok team.
As Justin Marshall - said the ball loss possession king - that one, the worst in Super 15.

Francois Steyn has had 2 good games in New Zealand. He made another good break today, and his passing was generally accurate.

I have no problem with the second break he made in the whole of Super 15 this year. It is the way he buggers up the game with ball possession losses, penalties and now a yellow card - which makes him unacceptable as a flyhalf or center.
You must remember that the New Zealand refs are trying to make sure the local team wins - so players need to be extra careful about committing penalizable offences. For instance the shoulder charge on Jordaan by Nonu was not even penalized - in the case of an SA player he would not only have been penalized - but the player would have been carded. That is the problem with their local refs.

I am glad to hear Jordaan manned up on defence. The guy has genuine pace and nice skills.
Some folk who dont understand the game wonder why I talk about a mobile power pack. Get physical and in your face with nz sides and they dont handle it.
I had hoped to see the following Stormers power pack in operation but never didKirtshoff. Liebenberg, Malherbe,Bekker, EtzebethFourie, Vermuelen and Burger. Over 940 kg of mobile power to blow away the kiwis.
Folks like cheaser must remember this season has seen the Mighty Stormers sunk by injuries. Robbed of a few wins as well - eg Crusaders. Had the Stormers had an injury free season both OZ and NZ would have won less matches and the Board would be very different.

Also this comment - A controversial pass from Ma'a Nonu handed a try to Tevita Li in the corner to bring the Blues surprisingly back in contention after West's conversion. Nonu's hands were adjudged to be going backwards.
Was it a forw ard pass?

If you judge the pass in accordance with the 5 meter line, it was at least half a meter forward. But that is to be expected.

Man of the match: Ma'a Nonu was prominent, but not as effective as his team would have liked. Luke Braid was the home team's go-to man. Sibusiso Sithole was a monster on defence, while Frans Steyn is beginning to set into the flyhalf role nicely and producing some sublime touches - not to mention beginning to find the target with his drop-goal attempts. Lubabalo Mtembu was an all-action figure that made an impact on defence and with the ball in hand. However, our award goes to Sharks captain Bismarck du Plessis, who again showed why is regarded as the world's best hook - not just being brutal on defence and winning turnovers, but showing some great touches with the ball in hand.

Sithole missed a number of tackles - which Jordaan had to cover afterwards. Have a look at the stats ns you will find out about it.
Steyn kicked on drop goal from straight in front of the posts - so now he has found his touch with drop goals.
What about the bloody cards and penalties given away - as well as the number of possession hand overs of Steyn and Jannie du Plessis? Quiet about that bloody idiocies?

Mike you are making the fatal mistake of sticking with your biases. Steyn, Matfield and Jannie all had big games today. As did Alberts who made more tackles today than any other Saffa and missed none. Why not be honest for once...you made calls on all these players and they are all making you eat your words. Move on before the guys in white coats drag you out in a strait- jacket.

I am being honest - you are not. Players giv ing away cards and penalties are not having big games. They are helping the opposition to score points and Jannie du Plessis and Steyn was excellent in doing just that.
Matfield I have no argument with you about his performance. Jannie was shit poor with all due respect - in the past two games he gave away 7 penalties - that must be a record of some sort - and two yellow cards in two successive matches must also be a record for any prop.
I said that Steyn showed some class last Saturday and then he went sour and the rest of his game was problematic. He was exactly the same yesterday. He is making way too many mistakes to be a reliable flyhalf and that is a fact. He should have known that a professional foul in the red zone would result in a card and he nevertheless did just that.

Let me give you another tip. Look at the card with your own two eyes and don't get influenced by the commentators. Frans is the first player over the tackled player, in perfect fetching position. If the ball wasn't being held, he would have turned it over. Then watch the Blues player flying in and clearing the second Sharks player....falling onto the deck on the Sharks side. Both those events were penalties.

His kicks don't have to be slow Draad. Keep him at 10 and give him some good coaching. And face it Reinach's kicking game is exposing him. Frans outside F du Preez will be fine...and we get a lot of physicality, which I think the Boks need in 10 channel.
