Mozart and his defective/selective memory

When ireland moved up in the ratings to no 2 in world rugby or dithering old fool wrote on this site that the Irish had a very old team with older players being the key to their performances.
However, when looking at the latest WC squad I found only 8 players of the 31 to be over 30 years of age.   In the case of Meyer's squad we find 14 players over the age of 30.
Now the question to the old dolt is - which really is the old team in the competition?  

The All Blacks apparently.....game, set and match.

I was referring to your comments about the Irish.   Fact is the All Blacks have the oldest team around - but old teams have never won the WC ever before and I am not sure what is going to happen this year.   That is why I am not bargaining on the AB's winning it this year - they have too many rugby geriatrics in their midst.
There is a difference between the Springboks and the AB's though.  The older AB's still perform reasonably well - the Springbok elderly all failed or were hospital ward cases over the past year.   Hansen still takes performance into account - Meyer is not interested in performance by players at all.

Average age of the last 4 World Cup winners - Aus 27, Eng 28, SA 27, NZ 28.

I am not too worried about the age of the team or the players selected, provided everyone is fit. The Boks starting team can still beat anyone on the day. I am more worried about Heyneke Meyer as a coach. I don't consider him a smart, tactically astute coach - his blundering with tactical replacements, as well as woeful showing against a side like Ireland last year, who targeted our play makers and suddenly we were lost at sea without a Plan B, being examples. I don't think he knows even now, after 4 years, what game he wants the Boks to play.

Thoise average ages are the ages of the finals teams - not the squad average age.  It is in the final case which of the squad members are in fact in that team that determine the average age quoted by you.  That is the problem at this stage -  we do not know which teams will make the finals, but one thing is for sure it won't be the Springboks.  

Well you didn't say "old squads", you said "old teams".
