In another thread you wrote negatively about only players playing NH club rugby with more than 30 tests would qualify for Springbok selection.
In general there is indeed a problem with the decision - but the question arises which BH club players should be considered for selection and your ideas in that regard will be appreciated.

Willemse is the player I am most interested in...also Rhodes. But if they were really schooled in scrumming up north Kitshoff now available , Kock and van Marcel der Mewe might be worth looking at again. Also Flip van der Merwe. Groom had the capacity to grow up north.
....
Most of the other players I'd be interested in are eligible via the 30 game rule.

Willemse may be an option - but I am not at all sure about him being better than Etzebeth and Du Toit. He signed a two year contract at the time and if he is really interested he may come back to SA to really compete.
I do not think his original contract in France was with Montpellier - he was released from his original contract after a year and that is not a positive signs of his potential. However it is likely that he would be released by Montpellier after the departure of White - so lets wait and see what happens next year.
Rhodes played for the Stormers for years and in that time he never was on par with Labuschagne, He is already 29 years of age and whether he would have developed further up north at that age is seriously questionable. A loss to the Stormers/WP but whether he has potential as a Springbok the answer has to be no way.
Flippie had ample opportunities to prove his ability to perform an test level and failed badly most of the time, Definitely a no-no.

Okay so much for that experiment.

Of the NH players with les than 30 tests I think Marcell Coetzee is one - but he seems to have a lot of injury problems over the last two years, He is injured again and may not be available for the June test series in any event.
Most of the players with more than 30 tests are over-the-hill and really are not as useful as they used to be.
With Pollard's iffy form and Jantjies caving in on international level we have a problem at flyhalf. On present form Lambie is the only real option with Jean-Luc du Plessis playing clever rugby - but he is very inexperienced. The only real alternative is Goosen - whether you like it or not. The Steyns are not even remotely in real consideration - Morne has announced his retirement from international rugby and Fransie's has a slow and poor decision-making problem with - as statistically proven - a worse performance record. I assume Smith would have a say in backline selections and so would Venter - they would not touch Fransie with a bargepole. However, where is Goosen? Latest news was that he is going back to or already back with Racing Metro. Not surprising - since Carter's performance has been poor this year - he was boo-ed off the field in his latest match. There is no chance of a contract renewal for him - too expensive and not delivering the goods.
The other issue is whether Stade Francais and Racing Metro will still merge. My impression is that the final resolution has been postponed only and would be taken after the end of the Top 14 season this year - since Stade Francais is in a deplorable condition and Racving Metro also not delivering the goods. Stade Francais has reportedly some financial problems as well. So if the merger does go ahead a number of SA players will be released from their contracts - but Goosen is extremely unlikely to be in that category. None of those are actually test material.

As expected ... another 180 on a players previously despised.
Marcel vd Merwe seems to be back in contention, boys. Years of ridiculing him and Dave has been set aside.
Kitshoff is also now the go to man.
He seems to have difficulty keeping track of his posts. One day it's this ... and the very next day it's the exact opposite.
I do not know of anyone that can have a heated debate with himself quite like Mozart. Do you?
Haaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaaaa!!!
I wonder how many he's done the 180 on through the years?

You missed the operative sentence....'if they were really schooled in scrumming up north'....try to keep up Desnotter.
