Mike, it was me who have Marcel at 112kg. I was also surprised as he looked a bit bigger, but that's what I could find. Care to give me a link to the ones who have him at 129kg?

You have a way of avoiding pertinent issues. Next time you shout about weight of players I am going to remind of your inconsistencies. Simmons is not the issue here - Matfield is. Is he at 106 kgs an international lock? The lightest player in the Springbok forward pack - yes or no?
Incidentrally Simmons had some decent ball carries - Matfield had zero. And then you missed the issue completely. The Aasies only had 8 line out feeds - of which 4 went to carter and one to a prop. They threw no balls at Simmons - so he took no line out balls. Matfield called five balls to himself - had problems with the second two, when he jumped for the abll, turned to the scrummie to pass the ball and was keeled over backwards and the Springboks hd to maul to get the ball back. From thenon until Etzebeth was replaced he called all balls away from him. When Etzebeth was replced he took up the front line out position of the lock and took one ball.
So answer the question and no diversion tactics again.

Draad there is considerable uncertainty about Marcel's weight. Some sites have him at 112 kgs, some at 121 kgs and some at 129 kgs.
If you look at the Du Plessis brothers, they like Marcel are 188/189 cms. Bismarck is the tallest of the three. Jannie weighs in at 121 kgs, Bismarck at 114. I see no difference in their frames. So to me around 120 kegs would be a good playing weight for Marcel. Hell man mountain Castrogiovanni weighed 120 kgs and stood 188 cms.
This is all hype or fat.

So they threw no balls to Simmons? That's my point....the very presence of Matfield made them throw away from the primary jumper the number five lock. Try to look behind the facts and see the causes.

Draad you need to wake up Google marcel ' s weight and the majority have him over 120 kg were you not listening to the commentary in the test for if you had been then you would have heard them say he was 129kg.
But hey Ho moffie knows better.

Saff x, I did not hear the commentary, but I googled and a current Vodacom siye, I think the Bools site had him at 112kg. I didn't think he was that small, but he does look smaller than Jannie though, that's why I asked.

Ag Balls - NMatfoield is not a deterrent - and to state that is asumpting BS.
Why don't ou beleive the SA Rugby webite insofar as Van der Merwe's weight is concerned - you make false assumption and cary on with your BS as if one can accepts your lies.
Go to the SA Rugby site and prove them that they are wrong and you correct.
Still no answer about Matfield - b ut what else can one expect from you. .

That is the funniest comments I have yet seen from any of the morons. You make photo comparisons and is alsmost as idiotic as Mozart is.
While you are at it - it is evident why Matfield only weighs 106 kgs - he is th e smallest of the lot - no need to hide weight anywhere - dunce - it just is not present.

Says the always confused OOm. Actually if you look carefully you will see Draad made that statement, not me.
The fact that you made that accusation is just standard oom bs and deception. About as reliable as the Oom's claim we have dropped to third in world rankings.. ....what frigging plank

Weight is so over-rated, especially in the set pieces.
Argentina made a fool of our scrum with technique and ability, not because they were heavier.
Matfield is a 5. Never has been an enforcer and never will be. Our lineout was so much better - dominant - against the Aussies than against the Argies when Lood was 5. Why would you want to give that up when it is at least one area we can try and exert some pressure on possession and spoil it. Equally our scrums were better, particularly Jannie with the "physically defici ent" Matfield behind him.

Etzebeth was hte one that made the line outs look good - not Matfield. Matter of fact he took only five line outs - two of which were poor recvovery because he was not stron g enough to stauy upright to off-load the ball to the scrummie and a maul was fpormed to recvoer the ball.
What upset me more is the absolute lack of rolling mauls in outr play. At kleast against Argentina we scored a try from a rolling mal. The rela problem is the lack of physoica;lity of Matfield - e is justnotstrong enough to handle the pressure.
Matter of fact De Jager took six clean line out balls against three clean takes by Matfield. I fail to seee how Matfield caused the improved line out performance against Australia - sad to say.
