Mozart - just to get you mad again

We are near the end of the local Twenty20 competition and the following is already clear:-

*   Kallis has not played in a single match and is out of contention for selection for the national team.

*   Graeme Smith played in a few games - buggered up badly and fled from the scene.

*   The top run scorers in the competition are Amla, De Kock, Rilie Rossouw and Reeze Hendricks.

*   In the middle order the likes of David Miller, Faf and Duminy made some good scores,

*   AB has not played die to a had injury.

So what would the 16 member squad looks like to face the Aussies in March and play in the T20 WC in May look like:-

Batters

Amla, De Kock, Rossouw, Hendriks, AB, Miller 

All Rounders

To bowl four overs -

Du Plessis, Duminy, Albie Morkel

Bowlers

Fillander, Steyn, Morkel, Hendriks. and two others based on performance - lets face it we do not have spinners for this format of the game.

If I have to pick a team from the above it would be -

Amla, De Kock, Rossouw, AB, Miller, Du Plessis, Duminy, Fillander, Steyn, Morkel, Hendriks,

Smith is not in the T20 squad anymore and although the selectors  said proven performances during the present series could result in additions to the squad - it is unlikely to happen in Smith's case.   He played in two games and he failed in both games resulting in the Cobras dropping him from their match day team.   That would not be good enough for him to get back in the squad.

Yea - and Amla and De Kock would open the batting, with De Villiers and Rossoyw being either three or four depending on the dismissal of either Amla or De Kock.   Rossouw is a left handed batter - so if De Kock goes out - Rossouw is likely to come in at 3 and if Amla goes out - De Villiers is likely to come in at 3 sine the left hand - right hand combination makes it particularly difficult for bowlers in this version of the game.  

All the batters mentioned are really big ball hitters and in sevens that is really important.  In that regard Miller is a freak - he is in the present team in any event.
