Sorr4y I noticed that you did make a posting - but have a look at my comments anyway, If Rabada was a serial offender - why was he never charged for a similar offence in the past?

And the ref acted properly in not announcing this during the game. If you believe his words he reluctantly made the decision:
"It is also disappointing that this has happened the day after the pre-match meeting I had with both teams, where the importance of respect for opponents was highlighted.
"I take no pleasure in seeing a player suspended, particularly a young player of Kagiso’s talent, but he has now breached the ICC Code of Conduct on a number of occasions."
At least he said all the right things. I saw some specuation in the press that this is all an Aussie plot....maybe, but perhaps cricket is simply upholding standards.
It's a miserable result and the ICC should give itself a bit more flexibility. I see this as a naive Protea response to cynical Aussie provocation. The fact that Warner gets away with his actions and Rabada is banned leaves a bad taste....the law rather than justice.

Read the Houwig article, which is more or less an expansion of my last paragraph. Yip I think there was deliberate baiting. Yip the rules are probably stupid. Yip the ICC could have handed out a suspended sentence or something more in line with justice.
But they operated strictly by the rule of law and that's what you have to anticipate.

The incident was shown on TV again tonight, What happened was that Rabada was walking to his team mates in celebration and never looked at where Smith was. The latter decided not to walk off and walked towards his teammate - in the process they accidentally came to near to each other and they slightly touched each other shoulders without even disturbing Smith's shirt.
The touch was so slight that nobody could even see it from the side of the field- yet the sneaky bastard went to the umpires - who also noted nothing untoward and reported Rabada. It was nothing and clearly accidental yet the result was typical Smith, A sportsman he definitely is not,

The video I saw has him walking directly towards Smith and giving him a deliberate small bump with the shoulder. And Smith mimicking the bump for the umpires benefit. An absolute nothing event, but once it was taken up by the match official Rabada was in trouble.

Smith knew he couldn't win the series with Rabada playing so he did what the down under unsporting types tend to do. If you cant win fai rly you win foully!

Proteas speedster Kagiso Rabada has appealed the ICC suspension that will see him miss the rest of the Australian series.
Rabada was on Monday banned for two Test matches for his incident in the second Test against Australia in Port Elizabeth.
The 22-year-old was found guilty on a Level 2 charge after brushing shoulders with Australian skipper Steve Smith after he had got him out LBW.
As a result, Rabada was given three ICC demerit points, taking his total tally to eight - enough to see him suspended.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) then had 48 hours to appeal the decision, and they confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that they had done so.
The ICC now have 48 hours to appoint a Judicial Commissioner, and after they have done that the hearing must take place within seven days.
"As mentioned, Kagiso remains suspended unless the appointed JC finds enough reason to allow him to play in the 3rd Test," a CSA official confirmed.
If Rabada is cleared of the Smith charge, the one demerit point he accepted from an incident with David Warner in the second Test will not be enough to see him suspended.
The third Test starts on March 22 in Cape Town."I hope Rabada succeeds in his appeal - the fact that the incident was really BS - made by Smith to prevent him from playing in the ret of the test series would probably count in his favour.
