This from IOL:-

"Former Springbok coach Nick Mallett has lauded the performances of halfbacks Cobus Reinach and Pat Lambie in the 31-28 win over England at Twickenham on Saturday.

Coach Heyneke Meyer opted for a new combination in this game, after Francois Hougaard and Handre Pollard struggled in the previous Test against Ireland.

Reinach scored a try while Lambie kicked 16 points with the boot, including a late drop goal to put the game out of England's reach.

Speaking in the SuperSport studio afterwards, Mallett said:

"Our young halfbacks played well. Reinach and Lambie can be very proud of their performances today. We talked at half-time about how England weren't using the chip kick. Wasn't it interesting that the first thing the Boks did in the second half was exploit England's flat defence. That chip from Lambie was magnificent. Willie le Roux probably called it from outside and he put it on a tiki."

"Just in the scheme of controlling a game of rugby, we were leading by five points and Lambie's drop goal put us more than a score ahead. There was some good play by the forwards to get us into the position, and he took the three points well."

Ahead of this Saturday's game against Italy in Padova, Mallett said he expected Meyer to give some fringe players in the squad a run.

"Heyneke Meyer's got 30-odd players on this tour, so a lot of guys are not going to get game time. I think it's a great opportunity to see whether our scrum can survive without Jannie du Plessis.

"I'm not sure that Coenie Oosthuizen is a world-class tighthead. In fact I'm sure he's not.

"Maybe Julian Redelinghuys will come into the mix against Italy and let's have a look and see what he can do on the tighthead, because we're desperate to get a replacement that can alleviate Jannie's workload at the moment."

Golden Lions prop Ruan Dreyer was on Sunday called up to the Springbok squad as injury cover for Du Plessis."

One has to accept that the professional version of the performances of Lambie and Reinach is vastly different from Mozart's assessment.   He condemned Lambie as a failure and found fault with Reinach's performance as well.

Mallet is embarrassing himself. Here are the facts:

2 runs, 0 meters, 1 turnover, 0 defenders beaten, 0 clean breaks, 0 offloads, 10 weak tackles 1 missed.

It was one of Lambie's worst performances, which is saying alot given that he has yet to deliver on any of the hype. If Morné played like that - it has yet to happen - he would have been crucified.

LeTwat/Gimp/Dim Sum, when are you going to tell us the real story about why you hate Patrick Lambie with such a fierce passion?

Hate? You sound like a neo-liberal crybaby. If you feel so strongly about the position I have taken, with the exorbitant amount of detail at its foundation, form a rebuttal.
I said Lambie tackled poorly. If you think differently, cite a reference of a good tackle. If you think he was effective ball-in-hand, cite references.
You always burst into a calamity of words because you are too emotionally driven. This is evidenced by the fact that the only way you can defend your pet players is with personal attacks, never any rugby acumen. I've challenged you I'm the past to explain when and where Lambie does the wonderful things you say he does, and you are always left bereft of answers. The end.

Actually, I really liked Pollard, I had no issue with Morné being demoted for Pollard. I, however, state that we need Morné on the bench as Pollard has yet to be able to dictate a game tactically. I also said that if we must play Pollard, he must be backed fully. I'm sure time will vindicate that stance.

What has Pollard done ? Present the evidence please. You ask Lambie fans to explain their infatuation, so lets hear yours. Quantifiable evidence please.

Actually Lambie missed two tackles in the first 22 minutes. He missed Eastmond in the move where he broke inside Jean. Then Lambie missed Vunipola (as did Reinach straight after his tackle on Brown). That happened just before Lambie got charged....straight through him. It makes one lose a bit of faith in the accuracy of the stats.

Pollard beat NZ with two brilliant runs....did you miss those Sharkie? This guy is as complete a fly half at his age as we have seen. He is also a competitor. For me I have no provincial bias...Lambie is a sub, Pollard in a starter.

Just sprung to mind - perfect comparison - virtually a carbon copy. Handre Pollard = Gaffie Du Toit. Just flippin hope like hell he doesn't end up at the Sharks.

Mozart - the great inventor of rubbish - or should I say t he great liar

If the ststa fit his argument he quotes them endlessly - when they do not he suddenly invent something to fault the stats.  His assessment of games are so totally unreliable it is unbelieveable.   The old chap is prejudiced against Lambie  so whatever he cames up with take it with a whole bagful of salt.
I watched the game again tonight and especially a dangerous cross kick alleged by Mozart in a previous false statement.   Where he got the "dangerous"  from heaven only would know.   Theere was no such incident - but in Mozart's mind he created this "dangerous ruubbsih he came up with.   .

Arsehole.....I said a cross kick in a dangerous situation. The Boks were solidly on attack and Lambie launches a dead swan which is easily marked, with no Bok even close.
If you can't read it's hard to debate.

 Mozart
You are a flipping idiot if you do not realize cross kicks is an option in attack.  I caught you out and now you are running for cover.

Mozart and fellow Pollard fans are going to support Pollard and use whatever stupid arguments they can muster it appears - it only has to pander to a very low intellectual capacity to gain majority support. Mozart has been in international business all his life - he knows exactly what he is doing. Pity - but it does appear to be the case.

Pollard couldn't execute a cross kick like that if he tried either, so by criticizing Lambie for taking a risk and trying something is disin genuous.

All nil arguments. Mozart knows it.

Mike you are just too stupid to debate with OOm. Reluctantly I'm putting you on a soft mute....meaning I'll only respond when I see signs of intelligence.
Sharkie I don't have a clue what your major malfunction is, except you prefer Lambie to Pollard. That's fine with me, but if Lambie cross kicks a ball inside the Pom 22 with no chance a receiver can get to it....it has just as much information content as a chip kick, which is brilliantly turned into a try by Wille. More has been made of the chip than the reception, the acceleration and the brilliant offload. That's hype.

Pollard being on a rugby field is hype. If only he had tried something against Ireland - wouldn't have been the mo st disgraceful Bok performance against Ireland since 2006.

Reinach and Lambie were very good. But there was never any doubt surrounding these two. Both proved ages ago that they belong at the highest level just like Hougaard and Pollard did against Oz and NZ and just as Goosen did against Oz.
All these players are test worthy as are many other players that keep getting ignored at the expense of experience and incompetent coach.

Hougaard, you can't be serious? But oops you are, calling him the best scrum half in the world at one point.....ouch.
