From the Sharksworld Player Ratings for the Brumbies game:-

10. Francois Steyn. As good as the one halfback was, the other was equally poor. Steyn has always worn the flyhalf role like a particularly ill-fitting suit and on Saturday, his accuracy in execution was just not there – to the Sharks’ detriment. I hope we never go into another key game without a back-up plan at flyhalf. 4/10

Steyn's deficiencies impacted on the ratings of all the players outside of him as well - so I will add that for you too:-

13. S’bura Sithole. Just like Jordaan, the combination of a kick-based game plan and an off radar for the flyhalf resulted in very little for him to do on attack. Having a player like this on the field, yet not finding ways to get him the ball, is just criminal. 5/10 

Now that is strong language coming from the Sharks supporters website.   I like the terminology describing Francois Steyn's flyhalf performances - he is ill-fitting in that position and in the opinion of many people should never play there again.  

He completely neutralized the Sharks backline all on his own - but has he not done that when he was playing at center as well?   Just check the stats and you would find he was a constant in that respect this year. 

Enjoyable fiction. A sort of Game of Thrones in which Fransie is cast as the dwarf. This moron is undoubtedly deeply invested in the idea that Lambie could beat the All Blacks. Trust me he can't....a small, slow player with no particular step and wavering self belief is not going to do the job. I admire what he has accomplished with limited physical assets, but let's not go there.

But more than that the "writer" even has his facts wrong. Poor Jordaan (another small chap ill suited to real rugby) and Sithole were starved. But surprise Jordaan got the ball 8 times....same as Leali'ifano. And Sithole got the ball 5 times , 3 times more Kuridrani. Admittedly they probably didn't want to  pass to Kuridrani because he was still dizzy after trying a crash tackle on Fransie and having to be checked for concussion.

So what gives? It was a wet night and both teams decided to kick for territory. Fransie put in some good kicks a few poor ones and he was bad on penalties and kickoffs. His general game running, passing and tackling was excellent.

I hope this has been an education for you OOM. And I must say even though this fellow is clearly one of the anti Fransie types that linger in Durban at least one could follow the language. My advice to you would be to continue to paste other views but find a few from guys who have more sense.

Nonsense OOM. This fool and his acolytes like your good self represent the kind of limited thinking that deprived us of the most physically talented flyhalf in world rugby. If you could specify a modern flyhalf Fransie would emerge out of the jar.

Then because he was a bit selfish as a youngster everybody tried to convince him  he's not a flyhalf.

He needs time on the job, like every other player.....he needs help from top notch coaches, much time has been  wasted. But there is your RWC flyhalf.

And incidentally forget about the small chaps like Lambie and Jordaan....there is no joy there.
