Here wee have a case where the gentleman has some really clueless ideas about rugby - he has favourites who constantly fail to produce the goods and pet hate players whom he always runs down.
The Sharks
The Sharks is the team with the worst try scoring record of all SA teams. The question is why are they so unsuccessful in that Department of the game. They failed badly against the Highlanders never scoring a single try. Is the Highlanders defense unbeatable - obviously not, the Stormers scored four tries against the same team.
The Sharks have a series of problems that needs attention:-
* There Tight 5 with the exception of Jannie Du Plessis is good enough to challenge most teams.
* Last week the Highlanders beat them constantly to the breakdown ball protection and recovery and they are beaten often in that Department of the game. The only loosie that really functions as a loosie is Marcel Coetzee. He was injured early yesterday and the result was that the same problems persisted.
* Their main problem remains their clueless flyhalf - as long as he is in the team try scoring by backline players are out. He is not a flyhalf - does not have the ability to read game situations and take positive decisions to the benefit of the team, Aside from that he is slow and his defense is poor. However, a thinking flyhalf is an essential for backline play to be successful. The dead Bulls backline for example came alive with Pollard as flyhalf.
The Stormers
There is one Stormers player that Mozart always praises in superlatIves and two Stormers players he dislikes intensely.
Lets look at the issue of Juan de Jongh. Over the last two weeks De Jongjh made 7 tackles missing 6 for a missed tackle ratio of 46.2%% . His poor defense nearly cost the Stormers victory today. Saffex last week asked can De Jongh tackle and it seems as if the answer is very poorly. This guy is a liability for any backline to have..
H e dislikes De Allende and Malherbe with a passion and what happened today?
IT MUST BE MISERABLE TO BE ALWAYS WRONG - HENCE OUR SYMPATHY WITH POOR MOZART.
