I have some problems with that try and he real stupidity was when on the strike of halftime Mone Steyn los t it by not kicking for touch from within his own 22,
Where I do agree is that Engelbrecht is not a clever player - he should rather have kicked the ball up field than to try and break the tackle of two defenders and since there was no support by the Springboks at the tackle situation, he was bound to lose the ball in the resultant tackle situation - the try was inevitable.
In essence the try is the result of rank stupidity - initially by Morne and followed up by JJ. At least Naas saw the inadequacy of both when dealing with the issue.

Actually I'm referring to the previous try. JJ had Savea right up against the right touchline and failed to put him out. ...so the move just continued directly to the try. Matches are won on mistakes. JJ made four key mistakes.... the Savea non touch, the hopeless overrun on a set move near the AB line, the mad run away from his support only to be stripped by Reid for a try.....and the ignominious Barrett miss.
If he did his job in those four cases we could have been 28 points better off.
Look this guy is a wing....he can run in space, not in traffic. He has pace but no instincts. He can't go low in the tackle. It all points to wing.

I also have serious reservations about Engelbrecht as a 13 and has suggested in the past that he should be played on the wing. However, we have no clear cut 13 at present - neither Engelbrecht nor Fourie is the answer.

u forgot JDV, he was the one who passed the ball to jj and was just as much at fault.
morne should have kicked the ball, but JDV was also in a position to clear the ball, instead choosing to pass inside to jj who was cutting into to traffic.

Former Springbok centre Japie Mulder has admitted that over an extended period he indecently assaulted a young girl, and tried to rape her.
Mulder was fined R120 000 or three years in prison in terms of a plea bargain in which he pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault and soliciting a minor.
Mulder, 37, reached the plea agreement with the prosecutor in the Germiston Regional Court, in a case that has been dragging on since April.
He was charged with eight counts of indecent assault and one of attempted rape.
'Difficult matter'
Mulder did not want to comment on Wednesday.
"I just want to wait until things settle; this is a difficult matter," he said.
Mulder was outside centre in the 1995 Springbok team that took the honours in the Rugby World Cup tournament in South Africa.
He and James Dalton, who has been accused of attempted murder (by his wife), were in the same team, and they were partners in an undertaking that sold cleansing agents.
Mulder's trial, which began in August, had initially been rescheduled for next Monday, but took place on Wednesday.
In terms of the plea agreement Mulder must serve another three years jail-time, suspended for five years, on condition that he is not convicted again of indecent assault.
He must also undergo psychological counselling and a report on his progress must be submitted to the court every six months.
Mulder was arrested at the home of his wife Ronel, in the upmarket Alberton suburb Meyersdal, early on the morning of March 28. He appeared in court the same morning.
The offences were reported at the Brackendowns police station in Alberton in May 2005, Rapport newspaper reported earlier. The complainant, who is in Grade 12 this year, was apparently 14 or 15 years old at the time.
The National Prosecuting Authority decided in January to prosecute Mulder.

Apparently the girl was one of his friends daughters. She was 15 at the time, which of course is one year below the legal age to consent in sex, which is considered rape anyway even if she gives consent- which it is accused that she did not. It is referred to statutory rape when giving consent which is less of a crime but still bad if their is a significant age difference.
Surprising that he was not convicted. Perhaps she did consent and later retracted this or they felt sorry for him. Who got the money for the offense, the court or the family? Still a meagre amount of money for the offence.
