Habana was epic in the last test scoring 2 tries in 5 minutes or so. Had he stayed on the pitch he probably would have equaled the record 3 tries against the All Blacks or beat it. He has also had a decent rest with injury and it has been about a month since winning the european and France domestic cup .
Read has become a very good player. He was average when he started for a good few seasons, but he has really peaked into one of the best players in rugby. Probably the best forward in world rugby

Pick one player - that is a guess - but not brave enough to make a fantasy team selection - where you look at player sin specific positions. I am not going to stick out my head and pick one player - but I would say probably Ben Smith would have been my pick.

I woud pick Read, worlds best player IMO. But as none of the games have commenced yet, who knows! Ben Smith to I think. As for Mozart and Clevermike, take it outside

For the Aussies Hooper will stand out. Read would be the obvious choice.

Depends how you look at it. If it is simply a player in comparison with his opposite number, Reid, Bizzie, Etzabeth are pretty solid bets, but if it is one players influence on a game overall, then it'll probably be a flyhalf that take the honers.

Well your opinion sucks - Folau is an awesome player.......has more chance of making an impression than Willie who will be playing for an average Bok side so will spend most of his time defending

Yes Denny it could be Willie. More attacking flair than Ben Smith and Folau. Willie will be playing in a Bok backline able to score tries. That sai d it does depend on who Meyer picks!!
Folau's problem is his low work rate - he is a serial loafer. I suspect he doesnt like hard tackles. Bissie and the boys must realise that.

Dave you will note the Boks scored 4 tries in their last RC outing against NZ...with Morne at 10 and Jean at 12. In fact Jean scored a brilliant try....one which Steppie could only dream about.

It seems more likely that Morne will be on the bench with Pollard at 10. Pollard must be the favourite as the starting 10 at the world cup.
Pollard needs game time before the world cup, and the 4 nations is the best chance to get experience. Not just against the Minnows at home where the Bok forwards usually beat the opposition into submission.
A Pollard/Jean axis should be good, much better than Serfontein who lacks pace and the ability to step.
Bambie will be the utlity back providing cover for fullback. Lambie has never been capable of getting a backline running. He is a decent runner himself, but the ball rarely moves down the backline well when he is at 10.
I doubt Meyer sees Morne as the ideal 10, but Lambie just becomes a Morne clone when he plays at 10.
At least Morne occasionally throws some good passes and gets his backline running.
Goose unfortunately has just become an injury waiting to happen, and seems more interested in laying his nest egg in France.
It was said in some of the media in zealand that Goosen was the next Carter, but now Carter is the next Goosen because he also gets injured all the time.

Willie is still erratic so we still don't know what he will deliver. Players like Ben Smith, Etzebeth (when he is available), Reid are solid & reliable & can also be spectacular. They don't let their team down one week & then perform like stars the next.

Actually I think Goosen was more the next Quade Cooper, and we all know how well that worked out. Lambie is a fullback, he needs space ....now a backup to Willie. Pollard is the future as I said when I saw his first Bools outing. But the pressure kicking may be a bit much for him this year.....I suspect we will still see Morne starting in the key games.

He may have been the flyhalf - but he was party to three tries being scored against the Springboks. His defense was poor and his decision making worse.

The problem you have Dave is....even if that happens, it doesn't prove a team of JJs, Marcel van der Merwes and Jantjieses would have done even as well. So you might as well support the Boks like any other Bok fan.
