5 La Motte.... tastefully restored Pierneef resturant boasts fine cuisine. The grandkids had the burger  and I tried a slice....delicious!

4 Delaire....magnificent redo by Graf the jewelry king. The finest view in the Cape Winelands can now be had with good food.I love the water course through the restuarant building.

3 Nobu at the One and Only. A great room for a start, with panoramic views of Table Mountain. Wonderful Sushi, great Japanese beef seared at your table in wooshes of flame. And then the dessert....a dark chocolate ball, filled with hon eycomb ice cream melted by your own little jug of heated milk chocolate.

2 Pot Luck.... sky high above Salt River on top of the old biscuit factory. Wonderful, gritty views of CT down to the docks. The chairs are by the Marquis de Sade, but the food comes in waves of textures and flavours. The patrons all capitulate.

1 La Colombe.....still the best no matter what the surveys say. Chalk Board menus....delightful service....and imaginative food.

If the Cape isn't the gastranomic capital of the world, it's getting damn close.
