My Assement of player performance

We need tighthead props.   We need  a proper loosie - not a player on holiday in SA.   And our centers are still questionable.                     

Overall a good game, and drawing with Australia in both matches is a good achievement- compared to last year.
My biggest concern is how much space the opposition have with their outside backs. It just seems to easy to counter attack- and get their players behind the ball.
What is good, is the expansive brand of rugby. When they were building phases, they are unpredictable. 

Coetzee         -       6.5One terrible kick, but otherwise was solid. Knows how to draw players before passing. 
Skosan          -       7.5He had another good game today. His defense is not great, but he does offer outright pace on attack.

Leyds            -       5.5Had a decent test- but did not get the ball much. He needs more game time.
Kriel              -       7. His best game of the year so far. His offload game was good- and he seems to combine well with the open Lions/Boks game plan. Unfortunately he has simpletein on his inside.
Simpletein      -       3He did one or two good things. However, he lacks the footwork to get himself into the best position for passing and stepping. He also does not appear to use his wrists when he passes. This is no doubt due to the donkey training techniques that have been used at the Bulls. Delande was a major improvement
Jantjies          -       7.5He is becoming the senior player of the backline. He gets a backline running better than SA flyhalf. Long drifting passes and pop passes
Cronje           -       7He was solid. It is nice for -the flyhalf to work with a specialist scrumhalf instead of the bumbling Bougaard.
Cassiem        -       2Did he play? I only saw him getting taken off.Louw            -        1
Du Preez       -        6Added some muscle to the Boks at the collisions. Needs to improve his offloading game.
Kolisi            -        7Popped up in attack as a linking player.
Louw- 5Was useful at the breakdown on opposition ball, otherwise was average.  
Etzebeth       -        5.5ok
Mostert         -        5ok
Dreyer           -       1Even someone that has not watched a rugby match before this one, would agree this person cant scrum to save his life. Is he even strong enough to be a prop?
Marx             -        7.He is like a truck that is slow to get running, but then very hard to stop. A man mountain that will run over people at will. Bismaarks bigger younger brother van die plass af.

Not sure why those slow, looping passes of Ross Cronje merit 6s and 7s. Rudy Paige took a few steps too many before passing a few times but at least his pass was flat and hard.
We have a scrumhalf crisis and it's at the root of all our problems.

Not Sure we were watching the same game sir. I though Kriel was awful, yet again.
Guy does not look to offload. Made clean break, ran thirty meters and by the time he got tackled he had not once looked to see where his support was. In th same play, Du Perez got the ball, ran about ten meters but managed to offload to his support runner.
For me, Kriel has never showed that he us Bok quality yet has the entire nation convinced that he is.
One could imagine JSVR getting the ball in all those instances yesterday and cutting through the line, instead of going laterally and starving Skosan of space.
If we want to persist with Pillars then he needs to be at 12 and JSVR at 13

 Root, I agree on Cronje. His pass isn't snappy all. 
He does read the game relatively well though. Still I'd want Fad there. 

Louw = 1? Our second best contributor on defense with 90% tackle success?
Yet Serfontein who missed tackles, turned over possession, sank more than one of our best attacking opportunities with wayward offloads, was made to look like the carthorse he is when Izzy ghosted past him to score, gets a 4?

Your score for Jantjies - 7.5?? I can accept it if it's out of 100. He doesn't attack the gain line at all ... all he does is crab across and push his backline toward the touch line... and when we needed him to step up and win the match for us ... he cracked and sent it wide ... as expected. There was nothing about his play that deserves that kind of score. I'd give him a 2/10. Simply useless.

I would suggest you go see an eye specialist, SharkSh!t. 

The above assessment is BSs - Louw was NEVER involved in ball protection and recovery.   The first maul he gave away a penalty and was never again involved.   On the day he was utterly useless.

I listened to Naas Botha's comments about our centers and the wild and useless passing game.   Naas thinks that centers should never carry balls by putting it under one arm and then ends up making opasses too late and to the wrong players - even opposition players.
That means neither Serfontein nor Kriel makes the grade as centers.   I know it may be wrong  to experiment in a test against the AB's - but I would get rid of Louw, Dreyer, Nyakane, Serfontein and Kriel from the squad.    There is no future for the above in the development of a team.   

 I am not bluffed by BS  like the real idiots on the site are - only looking at defense and nothing else.   That makes any real contribution worthless.   Just as an aside - the Louw tackle count was low and he was replaced by Du Toit because in reality he was useless uin the broader team set-up. ,

What's the point...must take a "few" positives from this performance lol
