My Bok side

Nothing much happening on the rugby front. Injuries aside, this would be my Bok side, with an eye on the future:

15. Taute 14. JP 13. JJ 12. Serfontein 11. Willie le Roux 10. Goosen 9. Hougaard 1. Beast 2. Bismark 3. Coenie 4. Etzebeth 5. Steph du Toit 6. Kolisi 7. Arno Botha 8. CJ Stander 16. Marcel v/d Merwe 17. A. Strauss 18. Kitshoff 19. Jacques du Plessis 20. M.Coetzee 21. v/Zyl 22. Lambie 23. Frans Steyn

The likes of Reinach, Frans Malherbe, Nkanyane, Chiliboy, de Jager, Brussouw, Elstadt and Labascagne came close

 I understand JP will be available. Taute is a class act, he proved himself years ago. Jacques du Plessis is another Etzebeth and Steph du Toit, he does not have a long way to go at all. If I was Bok coach, CJ Stander would be playing for me, he would have been a year or so ago.

I would never have been stupid enough to let CJ slip the net and if Meyer had any brains he would select him now. Kolisi is a class act, Louw is not a 6 at all and getting on.

The above side is my side, there is no room for debate on it. They are the best players in each position and nothing will convince me otherwise

Dave ....just to play devils advocate. Taute looked inept this S 15. Willie is probably better suited to 15. JJ's tackling is still suspect. Hougaard hasn't had one convincing game at 9. Connie is going to struggle at 3. There is no test proven loosie in your group, although I do like Arno.

 No Moz, Taute only played a handful of games this year and I have seen what he has to offer so no questions exists with his talents as far as I am concerned.

As for JJ, there are no more or less issue with his defence as there are any other centres like Serfontein or Jean. JJ is the best 13 prospect I have seen in years and that includes the world over. As far as I am concerned there is no debate regarding the Bok 13 spot at all........no other candidates come close.

I like Willie at 15, but we dont have any wings coming through and I'd rather have Willie and Taute in my starting side, than Willie at 15 and AN Other on the wing.

Hougaard has been fine this year for the Bulls, I have no issue with him at all and as a coach would show faith in his talents. 

Coenie has been good at 3 for the Cheetahs, so I see no issue there at all. CJ Stander is better than Arno Botha and I rate Arno highly.......the likes of Alberts and Louw just dont do it for me.......good players but not world beaters. My side is about moving on from old donkies like Habana, Jean, Morne, Pienaar, Jannie, J.Kruger, Louw, Alberts and Spies.

One or two of these may have a year or so left, but I prefer the youngsters I have chosen anyway, so I would not bother with these guys that have served us well but offer the same old, same old that has not had us challenging the AB's dominance for sometime now

If looking to the Future is the key objective , how far are we looking ?

and is that piet Van Zyl ?, if it is then i would be shocked, he would be a third choice. If that, there are a fleet of great young scrum halves making strides into the senior divisions. Hougaard based on his current play would not get a look in .

To call Louw a " Donkey" is laughable, he is a turn over specialist and has proved his worth time after time. Kolisi is an after thought when you consider how effective Louw is at the breakdown.

I know I have just witnessed someone change his mind. I look forward to the next version. 

Two different Saffex ...a safex and a Saffex . How odd.

Buzz, then we have Mike who seems to think his opinion is the right one and that he should be regarded as a Demi God. Another thing he has no clue on center play and just spouts nonsense on 'Crashball this, Crashball that'. His opinion on Forwards mind you is decent.
