 Dave ... I would be greatly alarmed if you and I thought the same way on rugby issues. 
You have at least 20 players in your "squad" that aren't there on merit ... and a list as long as my arm of merited players that you haven't even bothered mentioning.
Coenie??? ... need I say more?? Clearly you like this door hinge giving penalties away. He does nothing else. Simply useless. Always has been ... always will be.
Kriel is a proven failure at center ... the entire planet knows that. Excellent articles were posted confirming this ... in fact you disappeared shortly after. Embarrassed I guess.  
The list of your ignorant selections is a lengthy one (as usual) and quite honestly I'm not in the mood to go through yet another one.

Ah yeah Kriel the failure at 13 that ripped the likes of Nonu and Smith apart last year in the RC alongside de Allende and then went on to make more clean breaks than any other centre in the WC.....yeah that will be the failure you are talking about.....its ignorance like that, that makes me laugh at you.....along with selections like Boshoff as the Bok 10........give me strength


I'm yet to see all these Coenie penalties, last game I saw, I saw Coenie dominating the Highlanders loosehead in a game the Sharks got thumped in.


My list has the best players in SA and abroad on there.....something you know stuff all about......the only thing I see from you is pathetic rugby ignorance and a bias towards every Lions player......in your eyes Brink is better than Carr, Notshe and Arno Botha no doubt.


I wish I could remember all those laughable Bok selections you put up some time ago......the one where you had Boshoff as the Bok 10......that was one of many laughable calls

 Saffex you are a lunatic if you think Willie is the answer at fullback.A one season wonder who has done nothing in the S18 except kicking the ball straight down the throats of the opposition.If you must have Jesse Kriel he needs to be at fullback.Van Rensburg needs a crack too. He looks good from an unbiased point of view.

Wee willie hasn't had a decent game in ages. His kicking is a real liability & his defence is very poor. Picking him for the Boks is ludicrous. I would have Kriel or the wee Lamb there over him.

The squad will normally consists  of 30 players reduced to 26 playes when playing away matches.   With that size squad - I would say the following:-

Fullbacks        -  Le Roux , Goosen

Wjngs             -   Combrinck, Pietersen, Ismaiel

Centers          -    De Allende, Van Rensburg, Mapoe

Flyhalfs          -    Lambie, Jantjies

Scrummies     -   De Klerk, Cronje, Paige

Loosies           -   Kriel, Whiteley, Vermeulen, Notshe, Tecklenberg, Labuschagne

Locks              -    Etzebeth, Du Toit, Snyman

Props              _  Mtawarira, Kitshoff, Smith

                             Redelinghuys, Nyakane, Koch

Hookers          -   Marx, Du Plessis, Marullulle, Strauss

 

I would not myself include Strauss, but Coetzee stupidly made him captain for the current year.

I take it that's JP Pietersen .... not Sergeal Petersen ... right? 
Both De Allende and Mapoe? I thought you didn't like either of them?? What's changed?

You are 100% correct about the quota issue.  Where I hesitated  I did add some selections based on quotas  and that accounts for Mtawarire,  Nyakane,  JP Pietersen and Paige.  They in fact should not be anywhere near the squad.

Neither should be some other players like for instance Strauss.  Vermeulen has been sub-par insofar as performance is concerned  - both for his club and for the Springboks -  but he has still potential to perform and should be given another chance.

I will have no problem in replacing JP Pietersen with Sergeal Petersen.  Ulengo worries me – he is a strong ball carrier, but a liability under high balls.  

May I add - I never wrote off De Allende - he has shown improvement recently - and my center combination would be De Allende and Van Rensburg - which may change when Harold Vorster comes back.  The latter is in fact in my opinion a better 13 than a 12.

 Glad to hear you haven't given up on Vermeulen. 
Yes he needs to step it up a tad. I remember seeing Habana go through a bad patch. He shook it off and came back stronger than ever. 
Janse van Rensburg has made his mark at 12 ... not at 13 ... why then would you select him out of position? A small change is all it takes to disrupt one's rhythm and confidence. 
Look at Jesse Kriel. 
Janse van Rensburg is currently the best 12 in the country and I think it's best to keep him there. He's obviously comfortable there and as they say ... "if it ain't broke ... !!!"

Here's the point Tokkie....follow the bouncing ball. You include Paige Beast, JP because of quota realities.....which means you are selecting a  likely team, not your team. So I ask you again, not in the expectation of one  iota of intelligence in your response......why is Liggies in there when he can't even make the SA A team?

 I prefer Labuschagne ahead of clumsy baby elephants like Alberts and some of the locks you want in that position  as loosies - especially since he has  ball sense - an exceptional work rate  - contribute positively to comprehensive rugby -  contribute in a major way to ball protection and recovery.  

The fact that Coezee selected quota players as loosies is about on par with Meyer’s selection of non-productive reputation players.   Are you saying that Coetzee selection is based on performance – then you must be kidding yourself.   In your case it would be nothing new because that was your attitude in the case of Meyer.. 

I believe that we have a problem in certain positions.   When players are basically on par  - then I would give preference to  quota selections.

Tokkie it's quite simple. You say Strauss shouldn't be in the team....but you select him because that's the reality of the selection process.......and then you select Liggies who is so far out of the selection process he can't even make the A team.
It's garbled logic. Stop whining about Alberts, this is a simple exercise in school boy logic.....you can't have it both ways. Clean up your team and resubmit following one logic or the other.
