15. Israel Dag g - Lack lustre performances throughout the RC from this position with Folau and Le Roux dramatic drop in form compared to last year. Dagg has been the best of a bad bunch with his kicking rising above the others. Folau is the runner up.
14. Cornal Hendricks - I'm not his biggest fan but he scored the most tries from his position, Ben Smith is a close second.
13. Jan Serfontein - Best defensive center of the RC really stood out in the last match against New Zealand in attack and with a massive work rate in both tests again the All Blacks. His opposite on the day, Conrad Smith, comes second.
12. Ma'a Nonu - Although he missed the last 2 matches he was the best 12 on attack and was the smartest also. He outplayed De Villiers in Wellington. De Villiers a second.
11. Julian Savea - Self explanatory. Habana a second for his work rate even though his attack has been sub standard. Manuel Montero also needs to be recognised for a good tournament.
10. Handre Pollard - Again self explanatory. Aaron Cruden was the runner up but there's a huge margin between him and Pollard going by just this RC.
9. Aaron Smith - Best throughout the tournament but Francois Hougaard could've easily taken this from him had he started for the Boks from the beginning judging from his last 2 games.
8. Duane Vermeulen - Best 8 in the world and possibly depending on his EOYT and IRB player of the year contender. Kieran Read outplayed all his opponents bar Vermeulen this year.
7. Michael Hooper - Scored the second most tries this year along with Cornal Hendricks (3) and he's a loose forward. Great work rate and a constant pest at the break down. McCaw a second and also scored the same amount of tries as Hooper and Hendricks.
6. Marcel Coetzee - Changed the game for the Boks against Argentina and started ever since. Another work horse who won his battle at the breakdown with Vermeulen against every opponent, conceded some harsh penalties at Ellis park but still the best of them all. I don't have a second best for this position, feel free to suggest names.
5. Sam Whitelock - Played havoc against the Boks at Ellis park and owned the lineouts in every game he played. Tomas Lavinini a second
4. Brodie Retallick - As much as I hate to admit that he's been the best lock on show, he can mix it up with the forwards and shows some deft touches for such a big guy. Etzebeth a second even in the shadow of the form of 2013 he's in, only because there's no other candidate.
3. Ramiro Herrera - Argentinian scrum ruled this RC. Owen Franks comes second
2. Augustin Creevy - Lead the Argies well, scrummed well and threw well into the lineouts. Strauss a second.
1. Marcos Ayerza - Argentinian scrum ruled. Beast comes second.
