15. W. le Roux 14. JP 13. JJ 12. Serfontein 11. Rhule 10. Lambie 9. Hougaard 1. Beast 2. Strauss(c) 3. Coenie 4. Etzebeth 5. Steph du Toit 6. Brussouw 7. A.Botha 8. Vermeulen 16. Chiliboy 17. Malherbe 18. Flip 19. Kolisi 20. Reinach 21. Morne 22. Jean

In the backs I'd be happy with Habana on the wing ahead of Rhule and the likes of Kitshoff, Nkanyane, Cooper, de Jager, Coetzee, Elstadt and Labascagne would not let the pack down.

There is also the option of starting Morne and Jean, moving Lambie to 15 and having le Roux and JJ on the bench. I'm going with the new to start given its against Italy and Scotland. Dominate up front and run them off their feet in the backs.

Couldn't think of a better side and would also be content with Lappies, Elstadt, Nkanyane, Cooper and de Jager being involved. But would avoid Kitshoff and Coetzee.

Diificult sides to pick if the intention is giving younger players a shot.

Did Meyer say anything about playing younger players?   If that be the case - it may be that some younger players are broought in - but knowing Meyer's selection consideration - it will not happen.

He is bound to pick his favoured Bulls players - come hell or high water.   That gives a chance to players like Arno Botha and Jan Serfontein  - but you can bet your bottom dollar Kirschner, Spies and Steyn would be his top choices.    I think he is also bound to go with Vermaak - as he apparently does not rate Hougaard and will likely put the latter on the bench..  To that you can add Kruger and van der Merwe as well insofar as the squad of 22 players are oncerned.

There is one thing absolutely certain - there will be only one Free State player under consideration and that is Strauss.   Insofar as the Stormers and Sharks are concerned  - the Sharks wil have Pietersen, with Lambie on the bench.   Steyn would have been a certainty - but for his latest injury problem.   Then he would pick Alberts, Du Toit, Beast, and the Du plessis borthers.   The Stormers will at most have De Villiers, Habana,  Vermeulen (maybe on the bench) and Etzebeth in the team.

I am not going to even attempt to select a team - because of Meyers strange selection criteria.   So we will have to wait another three weeks before we will find out what poor broth  he cooked up this time around.
