The Chiefs started the evening with a moving tribute to those who served. A simple ceremony that was honest and so nicely done. "Soon none will march there at all", which once was applied to WW 1 veterans, is now becoming true of those who served in the second great conflict. Those old chaps stood up straight and marched off with pride and perhaps a tear in the eye.
I'm sure the grounds crew wanted a nice green field for such an occasion. But I fear somebody slipped up on their calculations. Those blue marks looked suspiciously like the fertilizer stains one gets on your fingers from a well treated green. Not so bad on the hands they can always be washed. But the poor players were rolling on the deck....and Reinach positively ploughed mouth first for several metres after his long run. Hope he had a good gargle after the game!
