Firstly I note Lodewyk De Jager - this youngster weighs in at 125 kg and 2.045 m and is mobile and hard working. If the stats is indeed right are we looking at Etzebeth ultimate partner?

Pieter Labuschagne - 105 kg. Doing well so far.

Trevor Nyakane - 118 kg. I like his work ethic - keep going Trevor.

I note however Rhule is a mere 83 kg. Is this correct? As it happens he looks overawed and is not doing much.

I notice also that wee Davon Raubenheimer is not featuring and checking his weight he is only 100 kg.

One guy who I cant recall to well is Andries Ferreira a young 120 kg lock? Snapster your views?

de Jager has had two great games for the Cheetahs thus far. But he is doing the basics well, which is fair enough at this early stage. We need to see more from the lad in general play before we can talk higher honours. But at 20, he is still a pup.

It has been disappointing seeing the Sharks giving Steph du Toit such little game time. I am really struggling to see what anyone sees in Franco v/d Merwe. Bresler and Steph du Toit should be starting. In fact I would not mind seeing Jandre Marais and Steph du Toit starting at lock for the Sharks.

Labascagne has had a great S15 to date as has young v/d Walt at 8 for the Cheethas.......he is over 110kg

I really rate Nkanyane at loosehead, solid in the scrums and strong in general play, puts in so many tackles where he really physically dominates.

I dont know much about Ferreira, too short for a lock and should be playing as a flanker. Sadly the Cheethas do not have a real lock to partner de Jager - they stupidly let Carl Wegner go who was a big lad over 2m and 120kg - he has joined a French club, thanks to Naka overlooking him. Naka played him at the end of the CC and he looked good, but by then it was too late. Lets hope Wegner returns

Trevor's tackling has been excelllent and he gts up immediately and bangs another. De Jager is going to be a monster if he is only 20.

Du Toit to me should at least get a shot  at 7. He has a nice turn of pace and looks like a potentially great 7 in the Teuns Stofberg mould. To me Du Toit offers more than Deysel. Marais and Bresler should be the locks.

Kan kan again looked fragile at 8. This boy just lacks the necessary physicality or maybe they are not using him properly. They certainly miss Bissie and Alberts.

No we have enough good loosies, we dont need Steph du Toit at 2m and 118kg playing flank, we need him at lock pushing for the Bok bench position as back-up to Etzebeth and Bekker
