This is not argument bait.

What is your opinion of the quota system?

Obviously most Saffas, including myself, feel that it's counterproductive.

Though as outsiders and in light of SA's past do you think there is value in it? Value that we possibly fail to see?

For me, size is the issue. SA black folk are just not big enough. The average height of a black male in SA is like 168cm. It's pretty rare for them to reach 185cm+

Kolisi is a giant by Xhosa standards.

Mr Plum

It's unfair to ask the Kiwis for their thoughts on a race based issue knowing that South African politics is a minefield where the unwitting get blown away . The issue is far, far more than just size.

Den

I should have said that if we had black guys the size of central and west Africans then we'd probably find more black peopleb interesred in rugby.

I think the Kiwis know enough about SA history to at least have an opinion.

They also have a vested interest in the issues since our rugby has been intertwined for almost twenty years now.

I know if they had some external factor influencing the teams that they put out then I'd have an opinion on it.

It's quite odd actually, how the sporting world in general seems to condone it through omission, despite the concept flying directly in the ethical face of sports regulations.

No?

Well i think it sucks.

No team should have race quotas every man should stand on his own abilities

Rather beat a full strength SA side to shut beendip up for good

Not many feel like you. I suppose most think we have it coming...we deserve it...and I suppose they have a point, but revenge is never a good thing for those delivering it...sweet my arse.

Dont think its deserved at all. The past is the past.

SA has gone 360 not 180 like it should.

Dont see our wankers like John Minto speaking out now. Two faced wanker Kiwi

Read an article where JDV reckons Kolisi's story makes him a good choice for Bok skipper.

I rated JDV as a player but between him and Matfield it's hard to choose which is the bigger politico suck up these days.

Towards the end of JDV's career he showed his true colours and just how self interested he actually was. He cared a great deal more about how he was perceived than what he cared about the team. Everything he did seemed to be to pave the way for a career in TV post his retirement.

There are millions of people in SA with tough life stories to tell. That doesn't by default make them good leaders...or at anything else.

A good leader is the best player in his position AND someone who is able to lead a group.

Kolisi's life story is about as relevant to his deserving the skipper's hat as what his being in an interracial marriage is.

They are separate aspects of his life and have no place on the sports field nor should they have consequence as to our national rugby team.

The SA quota policy, fancying on the non existing. Better that than wondering how SA won their 1995 WC. Poisoning their opponents, bribing officials, both...

The worst place to introduce rugby game. Now central and west Africans are not somalis. They are the same as SA people.

Could wonder what happened in SA so that there is so little proper material for rugby when in neigbhouring places, there are.

Addicted to the interest thing.

By this board admission, all these people are inclined toward football. Football is a big thing in Europe, it is nothing in SA as they chickened out of turning competitive in football, rugby being a way easier scene.

A big economical mistake as there is a lot of money in football, with schemes of redistribution that could have meant recouping money, investment.

Nope, SA had to favour non viable economical activity over viable economival activity. The legacy.

Back to the point: the NH, despite the heavy pressure from football, has managed to train some decent non white players from a much lesser pool. SA zero from a much greater pool.

Of course, all that non sense is convenient to avoid facing the situation.

Time to terminate rugby in SA. It brings nothing. It only withdraws.

The biggest mystery is not why TheTrad takes the time to comment on a sport he hates so much, but how he can type so many words without saying anything at all. Seriously, 90% of what he types has no meaning whatsoever.
