It is clear that the real coaching job will be handled by Erasmus as Director of Rugby - but a replacement coach for Coetzee will be appointed,

One wonders who will be appointed this time around.   Knowing SARU it is bound to be another dud.   They in fact has only three real options - Ackerman, Du Preez and Mitchell, but who will it be?

This is rubbish.......enough with these puppets and guys behind the curtain pulling the strings. The team needs a clear lead coach. Somebody who is accountable.

Mike i like Du Preez but lets allow the man time to prove himself first, no?

Akkers will come in after the WC. That's what i think anyway.

Everyone rates Rassie it seems, and if he has anything to say about it surely the chances of dud coach are decreased?

We need an Eddie Jones type ... not another super rugby wannabe.

Apart from Mitch, we don't have any within our borders that qualify. They're not much better than the retard we just got rid of.

We need to get a coach that'll stay for more than one term.

If it is another coach of colour I will throw up.Although most of our coaches are crap regardless of their colour, providing unlimited options of poor coaches. (Noel Marais, Gary Gold? )

I expect Davids will be given the role as the public spokesperson- with Rassie pulling the strings Anybody with more than half a brain cell knows that we need a New Zealand coach.

Clean Cut ... I agree with most of your postings, but I am reluctant to support your, and many others call for Eddie Jones. I will not forget when Jones many years ago was coaching the Queensland Reds and they had to play The Bulls in Pretoria under Heyneke Meyer. The Bulls that day won by more than 90 points and thus qualify for the playoffs in the Super Competition. Where was Eddie's brilliance that day?

Some do call for Ackerman as coach, but he is IMHO still too inexperienced on this level and on top of all this is that I am not sure whether Ackers was still ploughing with the players (team) build and coached by Mitchell. If Mitchell can pull the Bulls from the mud and do well in this years Super Rugby competition, then that will be proof who should be the real Springbok coach.

So, I am pretty neutral with Rassie for the Boks, but I do not like his bossy attitude.

Can't blame the coach for an average display by its players. I think Eddie is a much better coach now

Valid points there Blikkies, however you must surely take into consideration that that Bulls team was probably one of the best Super Rugby teams we've had in the competition. Heyneke built his reputation on them and then flopped badly at test level.

Players like Victor, Bakkies, Fourie Du Preez, Habana, Gurthro Steenkamp, Jaco vd Westhuizen but to mention a few ... and the Reds were really poor at the time. I doubt any other coach could have done better with that shoddy Reds team.

I agree with you on Ackerman. A good coach but way to green for the test arena at this stage in time.

John Mitchell should be a candidate. I would definitely have him on my short list. He seems to have a passion for our country. Most are fleeing it and yet he chooses to stay.

He's an alpha male and so is Rassie. I doubt they'll work well together.
