Yes, the referees on World Rugby's International Referees Panel are the best referees on the planet. There are no better referees out there. That is a fact.
I'm not arguing the call . . . I would have given a penalty and a yellow card . . . but refs are human and they do make mistakes. Doesn't mean Angus Gardener isn't an excellent referee and one of the top 3 or 4 in my opinion.

Listen rooitwit the Oz ref caved into crowd pressure. He lacked the mental and moral strength to do the right thing. But this guy is on of the ver y top refs in the world
Poor rooitwit never argues with a ref decision. Once a sharks player was dropped on his head by a down under side. should have been a red card but all the sharks got was a penalty. Of course i defended the Sharks against this absurdly bad reffing but wee rooitwit said zero. Appears that wee rooitwit is terrified he might be called a squealer by the kbbs!!!!!
