The fact is different from the fiction. In the past a substanial percentage of the Colored community in South Africa supported the AB's whenever they played against the Springboks. However, that situation changed when Erasmus became the coach and more and more players from the Colored and Black communities became Springboks on merit, So those people switched their support from the AB's to the Springboks.

In the past that support was more political than anything else, especially since Colored and Black players were regarded as quota players not being in the team on merit, After the Springboks became world champions in 2019 the support momentum increased massively amongst all South Africans.
