It was announced earlier that Nick Koster has passed away. He was 34, caused of death has not been made known.

He was one of those WP talent and school boy prodigy that never really got going.

Originally an 8 and famously made his debut as an 18 year old for the barbarians.

Unfortunately, Rassie thought that he should be a winger instead of an 8 which really stuffed up his development.

He had a string of serious knee injuries and eventually settled at bath before being dropped where he went to the 2nd decision and helped Bristol get promotion.

He seemed very switch on and did some charity work along with studying at Cambridge and captaining there rugby team.

34 is very young. He could have a wonderful bok career had not been for Rassies poor judgement

Rassie felt he was too young to play as a forward, so he started him on the wing.
Koster was, unfortunately, a very injury-prone player, and appeared to lack the physicality - or perhaps he started professional at too young an age.

Ja, I saw that, Eben might not be able to start the game. That was the reason why he moved to the sharks so that he can be close to his father. He was suffering from terminally ill cancer

My uncle was actually really good friends with Eben's dad. They use to wrestle together for SA and so did their sons.
