Position: Loose Forward Physical: 1.93m, 110kg Born: 22 February 1989, Robertson Province: WP WP Caps: 32 WP Points: 35(7) WP Debut: 2008 v Boland Stormers Caps: 19 Stormers Points: 10(2) Stormers Debut: 2009 v The Sharks

23 years old. Played a lot of rugby at center and was very highly rated by Mallet. 110 kg number 8.

Big, strong, quick and with excellent ball skills, Nick has all the attributes of a top quality loose forward. Despite his young age Nick already has significant senior and Super Rugby experience. Nick will be looking to continue his rapid rise and will be competing for a place amongst some world class loose forwards.

Here again I would have preferred him to make a career at center. How many fast skillfull 110 kg centers do we have . We do have lots of loosies.

Hope we get him back soon as he does make a great impact player and is a lot better than Sinclair.

he might need to reinvent himself as backline player because in the lose forward terms he is not as good as willem alberts and go. he his  the stormers version of pierre spies. to big and lacking in skills for backline and not enough mongrel for the pack.

There might be a question re the mongrel part but he is young and has been injued a lot really. has beefed up from 103 kg.

Move him to center. I remember a few years back it was said he was second only to Chavanga speedwise. Mallet thought this guy was the most skilfful player he had coached  -quite some statement.

well i must say i am not a mallet fan but he does think outside of the box that i can give him credit for. when he signed sireli as well it was the first time any SA team went that route of signing the very gifted islanders into our system.

the issue is he has not been coached to convert to playing backline. that is the real issue. i am quite sure he has the talent but its really being wated playing at flank or no 8 sorry to say

Nick played a few games on the wing for the stormers in the beginning. i don't know. i like him as a loose forward. In Future he will do well at n8 with Kolisi. People forget he is only 23 so still has a lot of time left and should take over from Vermeulen. The older he gets the more Physical he will get. plus he has all the pace that i like in a Nr 8. i won't move him. i'll let him develop. I think he is a case of people expecting too much of him at a too early time in his career when he was also still converting from entre to loose forward. I also Rate him as a possible future Captain for the Stormers.

i agree ek....i just hope for his sake he can have a longer run and try to mantain a first team place on a regular basis but in all honesty i would really love to see him being given n proper time to play in the backline
