We all now how Vocal Mallet can be here are some of his comments after the game:

"Andries Bekker was disgraceful,"

"I don't think Steyn has the authority on the field..."

"Only two players were up to [international] standard - maybe Francois Steyn, because of the charge-down try, and Eben Etzebeth,"

"We can't go into Tests hoping to win with charge-down kicks,"

"We have to be more creative,"

"Our creativity on attack is non existent."

So much for Bashing it up, but he does have a point.

EK absolutley. Mallet is putting those other pannelists to shame. The man knows his rugby and is probably now at the peak of his powers as a coach.

See my post re keeping the faith where I mention some of the things he said. We are so predictable the oppostion hardly have to think at all to counter us.

Actually I found Mallett irritating. It's not as how we didn't lose the RWC 99 using just one tactic....the drop kick. And it's not as how his later teams weren't crunched.

Im not a Meyer fan, but I felt for him as Mallett turned rabid on Saturday......hardly the courtesy one Bok coach would expect from another.

As for the crabbing across the field and skipped pass stuff.....it was diminimus. Hardly there but for two moves.

And Bekker misses a few lineouts and a stand up tackle and he's disgraceful. What did the Irish do to VictorMatfield a few years back. These things happen, you don't condemn the player in the absence of similar incidents.

Sorry Dr Moz but if the cap fits wear it. Mallet expressed his honest rugby opinions and I thnk he ws spot on th vast majority ofthe time. He is a breath of fresh air in a nauseating politically correct club. Bobby Skinstadt is a pain to listen to. Mallet has more rugby acumen in his big toe then the rest of those oafs put together.

Well done Nick for spelling it out. I hope Meyer was listening. But where is Rassie these days?

We are so predictable that is is costing us dear Moz. His points about Morne too were valid - see my post re Keeing the faith - second post.

True Moz. Mallet has the tendency to be harsh, and one of the things i hate most about him is the fact that he critisizes his own players when he coaches. But.... that does not take away from the fact that he is right to an extent. I won't say it as harshly as he does, but he does bring on something different to the panel, and i like to watch that. It's TV after all :) I do hope that Meyer feels the same way, as he would be far too much of a gentleman to critisize in public, but what goes on behind close doors i think I don't want to be in the bok camp this week.

Mallett was the guy who claimed we couldn't challenge NZ in future because we didn't have big Island backs. He destroyed Gaffie. Produced a 10 man game for the RWC. Took Italy nowhere. Took WP nowhere

Sure he knows the game and he is more articulate than some. But he is not a constructive force....just a guy who is far enough outside the club, he can say what he thinks. Most adults don't have that luxury.

mallet is great for entertainment value but cant really translate that verbial diarea into anything constructive nor can he translate that into coaching.

great tv pundit but coaching wise since he took over a world class team from carel du plessis he has achieved nothing really.

there is far better technical coaches out there than him to be fair

Spot on Nick....unfortunately some people cannot face the truth.

The AB's are going to destroy the Boks.

The coaching staff have gone from dumb to dumber........sadly.
