Nigel Owen
Yeah, McKenzie goes to ground near the end of the game, nobody around him and the ball rolled forward, by some distance. No whistle.
I'm telling ya Moz, there is dubious shi t going on with WR and NZ rugby.
My feeling is that they that it has to do with growing the game being easier while an "all time great" team is at the head.
Before the Kiwis do their usual ganging up. Please understand that I don't give a shit. Ok.
We were 2 tries better today...ya I know we got the luck of the bounce for two tries, but we also got the rath of a poor whistle from Owens way more than fair. The Boks were Titans today. Well done.
There were some clear home town decisions by Owens - and he was quite liberal insofar as the AB's are concerned - but I would rather say that the Springboks won on merit and not because of what Owens did today.
By the way he made a balls-up with the carding of Le Roux. There was one case that Barrett - the AB lock - should have been carded - but not even a penalty was awarded, Owen cannot say he did not see what happened in that case - he was standing next to the maul when it happened .
At least Beauden was on our side.
The scrum call in our 22 was a big one. There were a few bad calls. I didn't want to bring it up, but it wasn't the best reffing in a Bok test this RC so far.
The ref was fine, the usual odd call that was questionable including at the end when the linesman was calling for offsides but Owen did not call it. B ottom line it was a very good game of rugby.
See the logic...
Pointing out that the ref missed a bunch of pretty easy calls = Bok fans can't enjoy a win.
With so much pressure in the last 15 minutes, it was inevitable The ref did give another warning for being offside in the last 5 minutes , which could have been another yellow.
Boks were also fortunate at the end that the ref did not consult the linesman for offside.
There is always a post-match review of refereeing by SANZAAR and there are also opportunities for the coaching staff of eac side to submit their comments for consideration,
That review would include the penalties and how the match was in fact refereed. Although the findings are never really made public the situation is that the referees involved are often enough reprimanded if they foul up,
That is where the situation is dealt with - no comments on this site is worth any real consideration. Whatever Erasmus put in is report about the penalty issue is what is going to count as well - he is not in the habit to keep quiet on referee issues and his report will be clear and specific. I would rather wait and see what comes out iro refereeing and also see what experts like Kaplan said about the situation.
In the meantime debating this issue takes away from the really brave inputs by the players in the game. So lets rather congratulate the players on their achievements instead.
Logic is what count in this case and since you have none bar personal attacks it comes out in whatever you write on site. You started the thread followed by three further comments by you - I made two comments and suddenly you implied that I may not comment a second time. I know you are trying to run this site with your constant BS - but believe me you are not the site editor.
Best of luck - world top rugby analyst as proclaimed by you yourself - with your new campaign on site,
Your second last post lacked focus or purpose. Poor form. Swingin', but they ain't stickin'.
I was merely stating that there are ways open for Erasmus to raise the issue with SANZAAR and there are real refereeing experts like Kaplan that would comment on the issue.
So what lack of focus does that represent? Weird that you could come up with that,
I never trashed the thread - I merely pointed out the real situation and apparently you did not like it because nobody in the world can be compared with your knowledge iro rugby issues,
Dr Moz i would still rather have Owen as a ref than any down under ref burglar. No down under ref officiated and both down under sides LOST. Hahahahahaha
