Good luck to him he deserves it.

His spread is very small only on 48 hectares which is approx times 2 and a half times if you want acres and half a million sq metres.

He has chosen Herefords which are the second best for beef quality but lovely cattle in nature and  hassle free to breed.

He has chosen quality over quantity which is the best to go. I've seen a picture of them, they look top quality beasts.

My cousins farms a breed called Brangus in Underberg...a cross between Black Angus and Brahman. Angus is the best beef in the world with the best marbling. Brahman's meat is tougher but the animal is disease resistant in Africa and the therefore the cross makes sense. He used to have Herefords but gradually changed over and now has a contr act to supply Woolworths which is good client.

He initially started relatively small but built it up over the years. He also breeds top class Polo Ponies.

Quality verses quantity, he said the best way to go.

Nigels pastures look very good and I read he has put of effort into that.

He has bought very good machinery.

He is a hard working man and dedicated to challenges and adversity...I don't know the negatives of farming in the UK but I'm sure he will have success as you do in any endeavour with common sense and hard work.
