It was a great debut from Carr, first touch of the ball and he setted up Reinach with a line break and nice offload pass. Apart from that he made a few solid tackles and looked very much composed throughout the match.

Carr is no doubt the most versatile SA loose forward from what we've seen in S15 and in CC. He started to show his potential during the JWC also, his ability to break the line with pace and strength while link passing was quite phenomenal 

Carr should now be the first choice flanker by now. He's proved his worth in the past and against a good defensive Italian side. To waste such a player on the bench is ridiculous, start him against Wales in the next match!

 He is a good player.But you have to remain calm and remember there are other players representing different unions in SA other than WP that are just as good and/or better.

 I was happy with his debut.
SA will always have a massive amount of loose forward depth. It is one (three) position that I will never ever be worried about.

6,7, and 8 have never been a concern.

I do think though that our best trio at the moment is Coetzee, Schalla and Duane.
THey combine well together.

I'd love to see Jaco Kriel get a run next week with Carr!
Their pace will be great to see.

I don't disclaim the fact that there are other players in different unions who are just as good but there is no other loose forward in SA who breaks the line as often as Carr and is that consistent on most days, you can't deny that.

Jaco Kriel is also a great player who can make a huge difference. Great to see the depth coming through.

Depth and quality as far as Loosies go but then we fall over in other positions.....to the extent of the opposite end of the scale.

I like Carr, I like the fact that he is an attacking player, he is versatile and has a bit of vi sion.


Would not mind seeing him as a impact sub for now as he can slot in anywhere

He looks for options first before the option of making contact. 
Need to see more of him at Bok level. Next week he has to get 30 minutes at least. Schalk must start, vermuelen and Strauss, with Nizaam on the bench to replace one of them.

 Kriel is the better runner and overall player but Carr is still decent and deserved of his Bok cap.

 JeromeV.....your point is very valid.I also enjoy his attacking style of play.
Trust he can stay healthy for WC 15.

In my opinion Carr is a better loose forward than Kriel and Whitely with ball in hand, defence, offloading and yet he is still underrated. Carr is without a doubt the most complete SA loose forward from I've seen and if he was an New Zealander he would be the first choice number 6 for the All Blacks ahead of Liam Messam or Luatua

It was a brilliant debut and I'm sure he would have been man of the match if he played the full 80 minutes. We would've seen more of that pure class.

This is coming from a All Black fan here. I'm from New Zealand.

 Carr did very wel in the 30 minutes he played and was very actve.   However, how he would perform againsta stronger tem than Italy remains to be seen.  However, the signs are positive and that we must be thankful for.

Carr is a class act, far better than say Louw at 6.
He is one of many youngsters who should be playing test rugby.
