SARU have turned down the Kings' request to include more than two foreign players in their Super Rugby squad.
No leeway for Queens
Its Amazing that the SARFU seem allmost to want the Queens to fail.
-FIrstly they are only getting one year and have to face a relegation match which they will probably lose.
- This makes the contracting of players really hard, and then only giving confirmation that they would play at such at late stage of the year.
Sharkbok
SARU was under severe political pressure to allow the Queens into the Super 15 series and caved in partly. They in their hearts-of-hearts know it can never work - since the Eliphants can't even make the CC Premier Division That is the reason for the weird and heavily-criticised decisions taken thus far.
I think that they do not want to see any SA Team disgraced in the competition - so they want to get the issue settled in as short a time as possible through the qualification matches system. That would mean that the Queens would have to prove that they deserve to be in Super 15 and in a way I believe the decision taken was under the circumstances the best one possible.
I am 100% sure that the Queens would end up bottom of the log in 2013 and once they are out - their only way back into the competition will be by winning qualification matches.
Sorry - duplication
