Yes, what a relief! That business of awarding points for byes was one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen and it made reading the table unnecessarily confusing last year . . . although note that one or two of the more dull-witted members of this forum thought it was a wonderful idea!

It was a complete non-sense.
apart from making the table confusing what was the purpose of it?

I have no idea. You'll have to ask one of the dribbling half-wits who supported this silly idea last year, maybe one of them can point out some advantages.
Try Moffie, if I recall he was quite vocal about why it was such a good idea. Ask him to give even a single benefit of awarding points for byes.

Ou Maaik and Sasuke, I think we all understand that the teams have the same number of byes and it all evens out in the end, but that's not the point.
The point is that this business of allocating points for byes makes looking at the table confusing compared to a traditional type of table where all points are accounted for by wins, draws and bonus points. Last year I found when I was looking at the S15 table, I had to keep going back to see how many byes a team had played and mentally subtract those points to get a realistic view of the table. I found it very annoying and I know I'm not the only one. I'm glad they've dumped this stupid idea and it's back to normal.
