Looks like the Springboks will be playing in the 2019 RWC without a Springbok appearing anywhere on the jersey.

Looking at the pics on this link, maybe I'm missing something but I don't see a Springbok anywhere.

You're right blob, I missed that. Now that I know where to look for it you can see it in the very bottom picture on the jerseys of Malcolm Marx and Siya Kolisi.
False alarm. Sorry!

I hope you're right blob but I'm not so sure. There's an element within the ANC government that doesn't just want to do away with the Springbok emblem but would like to do away with rugby completely.

Why?

They should have just done away with it. The Bok is long dead.

I suppose they could replaced the Bok with a three legged African pap pot and then subsequently change the name to the "Pap Pots".

Much better suited.

I have to disagree CC. You could use a “three legged African pap pot” to cook a decent potjiekos (if you know how) or make decent pap (if you know how).

Perhaps it's a good thing to completely remove the Bok emblem, let's face it the Boks prior to re-admission had a glorious history, since re-admission they've generally been a disgrace and before anyone starts jumping up and down......as a rugby nation how many WC's have they won?.... we all know it's two, well wait on, the non-rugby nation Australia has won two as well. Nothing there to be proud of with regard to trophies won. Perhaps it's time to bury the past and to remember it for what it was, there's no going back to it, the new re-admission Boks should be allowed to build their own history.

The Bok is dead, long live the Bok.

Indeed Ceradyne ... had an excellent lamb potjies two weeks back ... using the very same pot.

Let's just stick with the Goats.

I've never been at a test match (or jumped up & down in front of the telly) shouting, c'mon 'South Africa' ......... its always, 'C'mon u Boks'. Take that way & the magic's gone ....... skoon verlore.

ps. totally unimaginable to envisage a NZer ever having a similar type chat.

Yes blob, but the difference is that you're actually cheering for the Springboks/Proteas/Goats or whatever they're called when they're playing a test match.
Klown is cheering for the Wallabies, All Blacks, Poms or whoever the Boks are playing against.

I doubt not so CleanCut's sincerity when he decries the Boks & g(l)oats about their travails.

I have my England jersey ready ... and will cheer for every opponent the racist Goats face.

It would do my heart good to see them leave after the pool stages.

I hope they crash and burn ...

Lol CC, we all know you are a closset Bok fan and enjoyed their win in NZ, despite your disgust with the quota system. I know I should boycott rugby and probably leave the country , but I can't bring myself to it. The same with my WP.

Exactly what I was going to say Db, CC is still a Bok supporter. We all are. We get pissed off with the political bullshit, but when the whistle blows and they run on to the pitch, we all want them to win.
I did once bet against them when the B&I Lions were here. With the logic, if my team loses, at least I win some money. I was very torn in that game because of greed, I actually was hoping for a Bok loss. Never again have I bet against my team....actually, more specifically, I have never bet on anything again, not really a betting man. But the point remains
