The biggest absence for New Zealand during their last Test outing was lock Brodie Retallick, who missed the World Champion’s 25-27 loss to South Africa.

The Chiefs second rower appears to have recovered from the knock that ruled him out of action.

It is probable the in form lock will start alongside Sam Whitelock.

At first five-eighth, 100-Test All Blacks Dan Carter has not made the trip to Brisbane as originally planned, while outside back Ben Smith hasn’t been selected, with the 29-year-old suffering significant weight loss and fatigue.

The absence of Smith will likely result in Cory Jane or Charles Piutau receiving a starting berth.

Aaron Cruden, back in the squad after missing the trip to South Africa, is no guarantee to walk back into the team after Beauden Barrett started Tests in La Plata and Johannesburg.

It is also unlikely that new squad member Augustine Pulu will get match time but he may sneak onto the bench ahead of TJ Perenara.

Jeremy Thrush and Conrad Smith trained without ill effects after suffering minor injuries against the Springboks, while Jerome Kaino and Julian Savea left the field early during the team’s first training session in Brisbane but the move was largely precautionary according to assistant coach Ian Foster.

I dont think they well be too worried about the loss. Its always good to get a reality check. It was a slim margin. For the first time in a while their individual processes were not up to scratch, SA were. SA played the game of their lifes, and NZ nearly wan a game they had no right to win. Took a penalty to seal it. The same players well want a chance to rectify things. They missed Retilluck so it well be good to have him return, and coles. NZ well have more of an edge this weekend. We cant underestimate Oz tho. They are in terrible form, not to mention all the distractions. But they well want to proove a point. So it well be tough early on, but if NZ gain parity at the breakdown and dominate set pieces. I think NZ well be too strong in the backline. NZ by 15-20 points.

Little depth in nz rugby so they hang on to the old guard. Not much can be done I guess.
Are the wee abs in for the shock of their lives? I mean who are the really good standout palyers they have. Apart from Savea who would make the Bok side - I am assuming all our guys are fit.
Wobbliers this is yours to lose.
