I pointed earlier in the year that the new European and URC schedule doesn't look so great for the SA teams vs that of the old Super rugby comp where SA teams only had to be away for 4 to 5 weeks of the time. Although, that changed once Argentina and Japan joined.

But now, looking at the games the teams are embarking on, the schedule looks absolutely ridiculous.

Flights - The use to be business class but now it will have to be economy, stop over in Doha for up to 26 hours

Frequency - More than 6 trips abroad, some are one week at home, then off to Europe, back for a home game and the off abroad again. It just doesn't make sense.

Not sure what SARU is doing? The URC had a its own challenges and I think I'm okay with 2, 3 or even 4 trips to Europe. Maybe a 2 week tour or even 3 week tour. Same time zone and less flight time.

But if we have travel more than 6 times and in a short space of time, then it will not be great. The SA teams might as well stay in Europe and maybe play against each other at a UK stadium rather than having to travel all the way home and back up again.

It makes no sense to fly for 1 game. Rather play a few teams each tour.

If that is the case, it is very harsh.

Not practical at all.

The South Africans should not have to do all that travelling.

SA rugby teams should not have to do any travelling toward Europe at all.

Scornful and self entitled attitude from supporters whose rugby was invited in a pitiful attempt of saving that rugby from their own misery.

Bottom result: European rugbys will have to sacrifice clubs to make room for the endlessly grateful SA rugby.
