11 points kicked and we had the game won, it’s that simple It was disappointing not converting the pressure into points - Kriel looked passive going for the line, which ended with PSDT knocking it on short of the line I was hoping for more dominance from the pack in the first half, it looked close to us achieving that but we could just not push the advantage The 7/1 split offered no advantage other than dominance in the scrums in the second half but that lead to no advantage really I feel for Libbok as he will no doubt now be discarded unless we go back to the 5/3 split. He also missed the tackle on Aki that eventually lead to their try What the fuck was Faf doing not playing to the whistle and shouting to the ref in that last passage of play the lead to their last penalty and 3 points Why the fuck did we not do a better job of mauling over for a try from that final kick to the corner Willemse was by far our best player. I was not impressed with de Allende and Kriel, did Mostert play and PSDT looked like a clumsy lock tonight Marx, Pollard, Am and Lood are sorely missed

PSDT had his worst Test, a clumsy fool that looked more like Calamity James than a former world cup player of the year.

He needs to bring passing back into his game, instead of trying to carry into traffic everytime.
When he tackles he needs to try land on his own side, instead of on Irelands to concede soft penalties.

Willemse looked furious when he threw the ball down after Delande destroyed one of the better attacking movements of the Boks;

Willemse did a no look pass, and Delande did a no look catch - or drop...

Delande just destroys attacking movements. He looks like he is on another planet, given how disconnected he seems to be.

Why did he not have his eyes on Willemse to anctipate the ball? He should get into a running line to run onto the pass that allowed supporting runners to run off him. Then draw and pass to put Kolbe away on the outside.
Instead Delande seemed surprised...

Marx would have made no difference. Lood is the worst lock I have ever seen. Stupid, slow, painfully unskilled, unathletic, lethargic, immobile. No. Pollard of course is far better than Earl Rose 0.1. Fluff is not a test quality player. The Irish looked far better.

The Irish was not that much better, but at least they put there scoring opportunities into points….who,s bright idea was it to give Faf those long kicks?? Should of given it to willemse…stupid on field decisions and lack of leadership is also costing us….Ireland the better coached side I would say.

I think, hope, pray, wish, and beg the powers that be, that DDA has played himself out of the starting lineup. 100% VisKop...he kills everything that comes near him. It's been that way since forever. And Kriel, chucking that ball in Kolisi's face. The entire world is wondering why we are not playing Moodie and AE. Smart reliable players that make a difference.

We are at the point where we are relying on individuals to compensate for terrible teammates and nonexistent coaching. That's worse than the 2003 side. This is not a sustainable model. Sure, make it out of the group and we could have a run if we beat France or New Zealand, but we will never be the best team in the world playing like this. The Irish looked lightyears ahead of us on the ball. Our defence looked tired, ragged, uncoached, and filled with very stupid individuals.

I think there are problems for the Boks going forward.

No where near as powerful without your hooker

11 points kicked and we had the game won, it’s that simple

But it is not that simple is it.  2 of the 4 kicks were from inside the Irish half and even the best kickers in the world would miss most of the time otherwise they would always kick for goal.

Ireland went to the corner three times instead of kicking and we have one of the best kickers in the game.  Kelleher's throwing is his weak point and if could have started Sheehan instead we would caught the three line outs at least.   Ireland score the majority of their tries off the lineout.

The fun part of this is that both teams have room to improve before the final.  If we both make it, it will be a cracker!!!

The way I feel about that test is that Boks played relatively poorly and still stressed Ireland to the max. Ireland didn't fluff nearly as many chances as the Boks did. Ireland were very smart not to take the points on offer early because they understand that early pressure and territory sets a tone. A tone that it took the books aeons to only momentarily rectify. And would have been much easier to rectify had they simply not asked Faf to snipe pointless penalty goals from halfway around the plant. They tried to do so to us what we did to the ABs. And we tried to do to the what we try to do when we apparently forget that the other thing works far better. The Boks got in their own way more than anything else in this game. They made ground at will when they could hold on to the ball and weren't very phased by the much vaunted Irish attack. I'm far more disappointed and angered by the damn eye of Sauron then I am by any individual Bok performance. Oh...wait, DDA and Kriel pissed me of equally and it would be great if someone could drop them into the molten mountain along with that bloody traffic light.

Very tight game with Ireland deserved winners. Boks looked bereft of ideas in the backs with a lot of passing undertaken way behind the advantage line resulting in very little gain in territory. The Boks failed to capitalise on the horror show that was the Irish line out in the first 15 mins. Even when they finally created the overlap for Kolbe’s try, the pass was made one metre behind the 5m line and Kolbe caught it 2m in front of it! Not a forwarded pass?? Ultimate embarrassment was Lowe hoisting Itsabutt in the air like a rag doll….
