Gelant remains slow and ineffective. His chase on the Paga try showed that. Nkosi can step and is hard to put away, he had 2 chances that showcased that. Kriel.....game in game out he just makes up the numbers. Esterhozen and Allende are both blunt instruments Raainacht is the same lucky packet that left for England. Koch and Thomas can't scrum....we were bested by a Bargie second choice front row. Lomp faded after about 20 minutes, and as usual he called himself in the lineouts. Coetzee is an injury waiting to happen, Andoffers nothing special. Kwagga was man handled again. ....... Beyond all that, this was another test we won with defence. The Bargies were far more creative and incisive. If we get a try behind in the WC we will be in trouble. Both our tries came from horribly poor tackling from Moyano among others. Better opponents wont be so generous.

Did De Allende play today?  I thought Steyn was the other inside center playing

Wonderful failing by De Jager - what about Snyman?

Snyman was never going to see a lineout ball as long as de Jager was on the field. But it was pretty obvious Etzebeth and Mostert are our likely starters

Nice summary Moz.

Thought Lomp was a mere clumsy passenger. Snyman, oh I don't know, less impact than what I expected, Frans is a carthorse and Reinach is no Test scrummie. There were no standouts other than Nkosi who made good use of his chances.

Brits was his normal self, utterly useless.........good one Erasmus for humoring us by having him in the squad and making him captain. The Bok jumper has once again been trashed.

Somebody suggested Nkosi at 13the other day.....it's too late now for the WC. But next year Willemse and Nkosi should be considered as the centre pair. Nkosi showed in his chase of Solokaia-Loto that he isn't express fast for a wing.....whereas Bridge burned him easily. He is strong and steps well, why not try him at 13. We can't carry Allende/Kriel beyond the WC.....but Eraser is committed to them for this WC.

It was I who suggested Nkosi as an outside centre. He has the bulk for contact, and he can pass well. He is fast but by international standards for test wingers, he is around average speed.
World Cup 2023 Squad?

Are you the dud who support Steyn at center - can we afford that?

So Jantjies should be the flyhalf in 2023, when he is 33 when Pollatd is only 25 years old. and will be 29 m 2023.   Weird BS from the brainless again?

Nothing wrong with my eyes given Mallett had this to say.......

"Both locks (RG Snyman and Lood de Jager) were quiet, but it was one of those games where there wasn’t any continuity and they’re both good with continuity so I think they'll go to the World Cup."

Denny

What was wrong is the fact that Snyman made 4 tackles and missed 4.  De Jager made 15 tackles missing 1,  Mallett may not have taken account that factor when commenting.   Mozart on the other hand is now pretending that the only factor counting insofar as performance evaluation of locks are concerned is the only factor in player evaluation.

After a complete mess in the line-outs against the AB's Mostert on Springbok throw-in was removed from calling line-outs and moved to the back of line-outs -  calls went to Etzebeth and Elstadt and nothing to Mostert,  No comments on that - from him but a new claim - about De Jager not calling line-outs in the test on Saturday to go to Snyman was another stupid and absu rd attack on De Jager..

The way you concoct your own narrative and pass it off as fact on behalf of a person you will never know truly underscores your dishonest and meagre character.

What I said about Mostert in the RC test against Argentina was 100% true - I do not distort what happen in games,   The people who distort and lies about what happened in games are dishonesty by people of meagre character,  So you can distort to heart content and write things that never was in evidence and is fine - when others write the truth the dishonesty i s not with them.

"After a complete mess in the line-outs against the AB's Mostert on Springbok throw-in was removed from calling line-outs and moved to the back of line-outs"

The old "he was being punished" story. Where have we heard that before? Ah yes, Andre was being punished for his poor performances, yet the coach had something quite different to say. Morné was being punished and placed on the bench. You have a habit of putting words into other people's mouths.

Listen dimness

Why did the AB test got line-out problems causing throw-in problems by the hookers?   Because the line-outs were unstable - the problem being caused by the movement of players in the line-outs just before throw-ins and Mostert calling the line-outs,

The second reason is that the line-outs where Mostert jumps in the middle made forming and using of driving mauls impossible.   In the RC game Mostert was not calling the line-outs on SA throw-ins and was found at the back of the line-outs with Etzebeth moving to the center of the line-outs.  In both the Argentine tests there were usage of driving mauls in evidence - something that went missing when Mostert is jumping in the middle of line-outs.

Mostert was not punished - he was still in the starting line-up - but still being cut out from line-out jumping because he was incapable of forming and co-ordinating driving mauls.  When I mentioned the disappearance from the Springbok game of driving mauls from line-outs you went ballistic and pointed to two shortened line-outs where there were no driving mauls envisaged - another example of your zero knowledge of the game.   Mozart then jumped onto the bandwagon and quoted the maul leading to the try against the French when Mostert was supposed to form and co-ordinate the resultant maul,   The maul effort was about to end disastrously going backwards - when Du Toit took the initiative and Vermeul en joining him to save the maul leading to the Mbonambi try.

Now over to Andre,   He was never "punished" in any way,  He was left out of contention in tests because he was just not good enough to play at Center in tests,   He was either par or below par in performances.   Morne was indeed punished for totally poor performances in 2012 being dropped from the team once and in 2014 twice.   Meyer did not use Morne again after the 2012  Dunedin test until 2013 and after the Perth disaster in 2014 did not use him until two short bench games in the 2015 WC,   He was in fact a total flop in 2012 and worse in  2014, while taking him as part of the 2015 WC squad was meaning that a position was taken up by an "unplayable".    One of the disastrous Meyer WC selections in 2015 no doubt.

Really amazing how idiotic your post on site is,

Muck......has it ever occurred to you that Mostert was being used as a decoy, because everybody knows he is our premier middle and back of the lineout jumper. And as such he attracts counter jumpers. Has it ever occurred to you that he himself was actually making the lineout calls? No you never considered that? Hahaha ....thought so.

So why was the ball not thrown to him as a decoy?   He never took a single line-out in the Argentine RC test - fact.   I am not trying to imagine things -I am looking at what actually happened.    There was no indication that he made line-out calls at all,  Before most line=outs in the Argentine 22 the forwards met to discuss the line-outs before lining up.   Mostert was in the group, but the decision was NOT his.

Thought you would try to invent something to come up to dispute the factual situation.   Decoy h may have been - but never used.  LMAO - try again - this one did not work

Lets take a look at the Bok lineout at 03:51. Here Mostert is at the tail. He is the last Bok to take up his position in the lineout, as he walks slowly to the lineout, he is scanning the Puma lineout. He is seen quickly calling out to the rest of the lineout participants, milliseconds later the ball goes to Thor. How embarrassing for you Lügnerin.

So why was the ball not thrown to him as a decoy?

Then he won't be a decoy

This whole notion that Mostert now suddenly can't do lineouts based on one game doesn't even warrant further comment.

Actually Matfield played a similar role sometimes....acting as a decoy. Easy to do if you are a great lineout jumper respected by the opposition. Just another Muck fantasy.

Pakie

It is absolutely clear that the Springboks virtually abandoned the use of driving mauls  in 2018 and the reason for that was embodied in one player - Mostert.   He is not physically strong enough to play a role in that component of the game.

It is also clear that there was great unhappiness with what happened in the AB test when the Line-outs turned out to be a problem area.   The line-outs in the Argentina RC test was much  better  and so was the line=outs in the warm up game.

The Springboks cannot afford a player who cannot make a full contribution to all facets of line-out play  and it would be no surprise of Mostert is used against weaker teams in the WC and cut out in key games where forward competition is stronger,   That is if he is making the final squad at all. .
