I think all the members are faced with dilemma as to what to post over the next eight weeks. We are rugby-deprived and only have he deadly dull NH teams to watch - so what can we discuss on this Board?
Cloudy tried hard and posted something about Christmas fare - not a bad response and everyone seems to sit up and be positive. Nice thread that one.
I tried to poke fun at Jacob Zuma being boo-ed at the Mandela Memorial Service and it turned sour. The members al forgot the unwritten code - never speak ill about the departed. I have never been to a funeral service where the dearly departed were not paragons of virtue. Can remember one though of an elderly bachelor - where a married "lady" cried out - "there goes the father of half of my children" . And then there was one tragic death in the family - the great one who could finish of nine quarts of beer without blinking of an eyelid - needless to say he was from England. The wake was one of the best parties I have ever been to.
Be it as it may - the Memorial was a mess because our Government used a psycho as a finger-language expert for the benefit of the deaf. Do they ever do anything right?
I have tried cricket as a diversion - and ended up with a stern reprimand on the fact that this is a ruby forum. Apparently there are no real cricket lovers around. England plays like dildos in the Ashes Series - and now suddenly Australia is the tops in cricket and dear Redsman at last has something to brag about. A stern warning that March is not far away - when the glorious Proteas will turn the dildos on them. .
We have flogged the virtues of McCaw to death and the poor play of Morne Steyn followed the same route.
Not even a thread on Sloth Alberts recorded any real response. The hype is still on and the lack of performance is ignored, other than by the majority of the members who use metaphors to describe what he allegedly does on the field of play
Now the Board has turned nasty on my dear friend Saffex. It is not necessary to splash out personal info on members on this site and this is a tendency that ruined and made the December- January period a year ago an utter disaster. Stay away from that please. Saffex reminds me of a Ser geant Major I met when I was doing officer training in the army many years ago. That guy was a real example for us to follow - his collection of curse words were endless - and in admiration we tried to remember them to use them on our subordinates. Can remember one day when he said "The fucking Parson wants to talk to you lot of useless bastards".
Come now - we need some real rugby topics to discuss on this Board. I am trying to find acceptable topics - but others must help out too.
