 Yeah Boks were by a mile the better side againgst Aussie. Unfortunately some shoddy defense and some bad ref calls resulted in a loss. Thought Serfointain was a star in the backline, not much on Attack but he made 20 tackles very good defensively (Did very well for me in Fantasy haha). It wont be an easy win for the abs, abs should and prob well win but it well be under 10 pts. Not that I like to blame or single out players in a team sport, but Steyn lost SA the game he should of tackled Horne, and Horne just side stepped him with ease, very poor defending. 

Beeno & co: you cannot say you were not warned. I have been telling you tha Oz will challenge your second place ranking for some time now. Beeno bleating on about how the AB ranking is at risk was too rich when the challenges for the second place were tighter. Poms will improve also so we will see what the June tours bring.

 

But seriously, Oz do not deserve their second place ranking and they will lose to Boks in SA anyway. Maybe to demotion in ranking will mean Meyer can make the changes that are necessary.

3ku1, I'm not a big Morne Steyn fan at the moment, but any decent wing should be able to step inside a corner flagging defender. Same happened at the other side with Hendricks' try - easy step inside past the scrambling defender. Whoever is racing across in a situation like that has no chance against a properly timed inside step.

 Bit harsh on the wee Bokke , but J_W did warn wee beandork eh ?Mikey you leave the Marvelous  Morne be , us Kiwis like him just fine .Fatty Mackenzies head is fattening nicely , should be able to fit a whole butternut pumpkin in his gob by X-mas

It wont be long before England pass us as well. For as long as we operate under Meyer, we will keep slipping down the rankings......its a given.  

 How fickle we as SA supporters can be.Gentleman, listen up and listen up good. Had Habana not been strangely yellow carded and Morne Steyn found touch, we would be hailing the Boks as heroes and Meyer as a maestro. 
The Boks did everything but win the game and I can assure you as a man living in Aus, these guys themselves think the Boks were robbed. I had girls at work talking about it today. Had Morne found touch, we set the line out and roll down the clock and win the game. It didnt happen..Morne fucked up..Is this reason to call for Meyer's head?
I would understand if we were beaten 5 tries to 1 or something but this was not the case. The fact remains that the Boks were in so much control up to the point where Habana was sent off that we managed to lose the game instead of Aussies win it!

Bottom line is we had the match in the bag or so we thought ... and then suddenly we didn't.

Meyer is an incompetent fool who should by rights take Juan Smith's example and do the right thing ... step down.

You see Logic, beating the Wallabies should be a foregone conclusion. We have a zillion more players than them to select from and yet ... we lost on Saturday. Why?

This loss should be placed squarely at the feet of Meyer. Just like the scrumming disaster against Argentina. Meyer knows we have a issue upfront yet thinks if he hides his head in the sand it'll go away.

What really get's me is that he seems surprised when it surfaces again. 

We did ok against the Wallabies. It's not exactly as if we decimated them in the scrum ... like we should have. Now Meyer and everyone else thinks its all good with our scrum.

This weekend we're up against a side that stood their ground against the Puma scrum.

They didn't break the land speed record going in reverse like we did a few weeks back.

Sorry, Logic!! Let's call it what it is and stop making excuses for a very poor Bok side and an even poorer coach.

Saturday's loss was far from the 14 point loss or "thumping" many here predicted. Fact is the game plan, even though it was being poorly executed, was winning the match. The problem with that type of game plan is that it often results in a game where there isn't much margin for error and that is exactly what happened between the ref and our own mistakes.
Where the heck is our kick chase? For a team to enter the game knowing what their approach would be, the pressure on the kick receiver during the RC has been dismal. AB's, for all their ball in hand running, are light years ahead of us in their execution of this and it simply shouldn't be. 
Willie le Roux needs to be at first receiver more often - last year he was popping up there frequently and having an impact, but we seem to have gone away from that. With as much territorial advantage that we had there should have been more scoring opportunities.
Overall, team continues to look out of sync this RC and playing well below the standard of last year and even the June tests.
Don't expect we will stay at #3 for long. I see the Aussies really struggling against Argentina. If our scrum was able to exert pressure, it will be a long day for the Aussie forwards against Argentina. Took a while for the AB's to put them to the sword on Saturday - they are playing much better than their world ranking would make you think.

You are spot on here - the execution was poor and the kick chase impossible.   The problem is most kicks were poorly executed - way too long and inaccurate to allow for the chase to work.   Then there was two kicks that cost us 10 points - both by Morne  Steyn.
Morne has a habit of missing to fuind touch  with panelty kicks I counted 7 such kicks over the last year - most of which cost us dearly)  and also extremely poor aimless kicks - allowing the opposition to counter-attack.     The same with Pienaar - his kicking is even worse.   
Looking at the game again -  I still have serious reservations about Matfield - he is whatI would call a crinckle paper lock - far too weak from a physical perspective and ineffective in the Tight 5.   Even though he made a reasonable number of tackles - most of those were poor and allow players to off-laod or make the ball a vailable with ease.   H eis also to my mind the main reason for scrumming problems - as well as the absence from our game of driving mauls.
The half back pair and Matfield were the weak links in our game on Saturday and I sincerely hope that Matfield replace them.   Pollard, Hougaard/Reinach and De jager cannot be worse than the three mentioned.

Australia must start as favourites this weekend, but Argentina are so low in the rankings that a win by AUS may not be enough to increase their rank. Although the Boks should decrease their rank unless they win of course which must be less than 50% chance.

Still it is funny to see the OOm, Rancid Dave and Clean Gene gleefully going on about our position loss, when poor Old OOm had led them down the garden path again. Some Bok fans
