With Vermeulen being injured and Spies not realy producing anything of significance - is it not time for the Springboks to play Arno Bothat at number 8 for the June tests?   However, I doubt it if Meyer would do that - he is really so limited in the seletions he ultimately make and is in fact doltish in his approach to selections.

I would also like to see Serfontein in the mix - but he would not be available due to Junior WC obligations as it stands at present.   If Meyer requests as such - they may go with Janse Van Rensburg to the JWC after the game of the Juniors against Namibia.  However, being a dolt as er normal Meyer would no go that way.   He is likely to perist with Spie and the vanishing from sight De Jongh in his team - since Steyn is out of contention.

Taking into account injuries and form - my backline for the uocoming series would be as follows:-

15   Le Roux

14   Pietersen

13   De Villiers

12   Serfontein

11   Habana

10   Steyn or Lambie

9   Vermaak/Reinach - Reinach could be back by middle June and available for th second test in the series.

However, as stated Meyer would play out of form and the vry poor performer  Kirchner at full back..

Arno Botha is the obvious choice, with the likes of Coetzee and v/d Walt as options.

My Bok side would be: 15. le Roux 14. JP 13. JJ 12. Serfontein 11. Habana 10. Lambie 9. Hougaard 1. Beast 2. Strauss 3. Coenie 4. Etzebeth 5. Steph du Toit 6. Brussouw 7. Elstad 8. Botha 16. Chiliboy 17. Malherbe 18. de Jager 19. Coetzee 20. Reinach 20. Morne 21. Jean

Alberts did not have a goo game yesterday and Elstadt is likely to be out of rugby for at least 6 weeks - so he is not an option for the June test series.   I do not think it is realistic to leave out De Villiers - who will be the captain in favour of Engelbrecht - so you are going off on a tangent again.

Strauss is fully capable of taking up the captaincy, but I'd rather have Jean in the starting 15 with Serfontein just to help ease him into test rugby.

jacques englebrechtts name should be thrown into the mix as well, hes been impressive in nearly every gaem this year, prob the most consistent No8 in the whole comp IMO, crazy considering hes started many times of the bench, o_O

how long is vermeulen out for BTW???

i got a feeling that with vermeulen out were not only not going to see englebrechtt or botha, but spies will be in myeres opinion the logical choice, sad but a real possibilty.
