AB Sevens squad named to prepare for Hertz Sevens

All Blacks Sevens Coach Gordon Tietjens has named the following squad to prepare for next weekend's Hertz Sevens in Wellington, the fourth tournament in the IRB HSBC Sevens World Series for 2012/13. The final team of 12 to play will be named on Monday.

All Blacks Sevens contracted player Toby Arnold was not considered because of injury.

very strong squad here named tich for the NZ leg of the world 7s tour, all the usual names are here with cama, forbes, rakabula, lam, mickelson, baker so im expecting nothing short of a NZ victory.

one of the best inclsions is sherwan stowers return to the NZ 7s team, this speedster wasnt picked fo the blues this year, with john kirwan making some huge clean up calls, but the blues loss is the NZ 7s gain, not a bad swap considering that frank halai was drafted into the team, so a very nice swap IMO, especially with ben lam on the rise as one of NZs 7s power forwards.

ben lam is pat lams nephew. i remember reading that back when he was drafted into the blues squad last year. with new coach john kirwan in the house of blues, he has been one of many changes in 2013.

but thats probab;y a good thing, especially for the NZ 7s team, hes a powerhouse on the 7s circut, ben lam tremndous go forward power and ton of gas.
