if making an ABs team based only on form, it would look something like this,,,

1 kane hames, 2 dane coles, 3 chris king

4 jeremy thrush, 5 joe wheeler

6 liam messam, 8 nasi manu, 7 shane christie

9 aaron smith, 10 beauden barret

12 ryan crotty, 13 george moala

11 julian savea, 15 charles piutau, 14 corey jane

16 liam coltman, 17 ben franks, 18 charlie faumuina, 19 sam whitelock, 20 steven luatua, 21 tj perenara, 22 lima sopoaga, 23 ben smith

a storng team, but not one u would want to field in any matches against the french, england, Boks or wallys.

That team may be food point earners in fantasy sport - but nowhere else would they do any good.   They are actually not up to standard in scrumming and most other aspects of the game.
I do not use fantasy points other than to point out serious flops where the points earned are not even remotely satisfactory.  Otherwise it is more like a lottery ticket.

@mikey,

"That team may be food point earners in fantasy sport - but nowhere else would they do any good."
im pretty sure this team could beat the pumas in argentina, even the 2012 pumas which the Boks couldnt beat.

"They are actually not up to standard in scrumming and most other aspects of the game."
the highlander props i named in my team  have been awesome at scrumtime, b est NZ forward pack IMO.
the negine room might give us a problem though, but what wheeler and thursh lack in horsepowerr, they more then make up elsewhere on the field.

"I do not use fantasy points other than to point out serious flops where the points earned are not even remotely satisfactory.  Otherwise it is more like a lottery ticket."
the selections i made in the top 3 players (which is just my opinion BTW) had no bearing on stats what so ever.
it was based only on form, form that was assessed by visual performance of all the games played to date.

while i admit there are some point cows in my team based on fantasy rugby based stats, its not beyond the realm of belief to think that some players good form would translate well in the stats department.

i can understand ur reservation though, there have been many loclas here who have been annoyed by the fantasy stats posted here by me and others, as they dont reflect kindly on the saffa players.

make no mistake, the stats arent as u put it elsewhere the alpha and omega, but it cant be brushed aside as simply applicable to fantasy rugby only either.

one way of looking at fantasy rugby stats is that its nothing more then a rough sketch of a drawing.
u know what the picture is, but there are plenty more details to be added on, before it can be called a nice drawing/picture

for interest sake, i would like to know based on form and not taking into account stats, what team u might have named from the NZ players only.
