Backline remains unchanged, but  glad to see that they have brought in Wiese in place of Kwagga,

but the bench again don't look like they will have much impact.

This is a huge risk as we are no trusting Chick Sh*t stepper Willemse to cover the backline.

What if Pollard gets Injured, would you trust this guy that can't even find his own place for his local province.

So now they have gone for two penalty machines on the bench.

I  guess that they are not trusting Kolisi  to last the match so Van staden will come on.

Kwagga to  come onto the park.

Still  persisting with Mostert that had no impact.

Front looks better but it is bloody waste to only have your front row play for 40 minutes.

Players like Kitshoff and Marx can have a huge impact on the game and need to stay on the park as long as possible. Marx is the only player that can play towards the ball and needs time early in the game.

Bongi is definitely good enough, but i think I prefer Marx and he needs to get a proper run out

Ox Nche must be disappointed to not even make the matchday squad. (Just read, he is actually out with a neck injury).

Jasper Wiese will bring some much-needed physicality to the pack.

Marco is probably being considered as a breakdown specialist. Francois Louw is certainly being missed for his impact at the rucks. Marco Van Staden is probably the closest style of player to replace him.

We could expect to see him take the place of Kolisi in the 2nd half, just like how Louw replaced him. AM will then take over the leadership role.

Not sure what two loose forwards will offer

Let's just hope Flab Malherbe has improved his conditioning in 1 week. Looks like Nykane is going to cover Loosehead, with Koch tighthead.
The bench is missing a good lock to make an impact. Lomp is part of the Dumb Squad, not the Bomb Squad.

Two tighthead props on the bench? Doesn't say much for our loosehead stocks.

Nykane is a swinger prop, and is actually better at loosehead than tighthead.

I can't recall seeing Nyakane at loosehead. He may have played the position years ago but it's an unnecessary risk if you ask me.

Thinking about it, his only other options from his original squad would have been Coenie Oosthuizen or Thomas du Toit who are both better known as tightheads than looseheads. At least we've seen du Toit at loosehead in the last few seasons which is more than I can say for Nyakane . . . but let's see what happens.

I think Thomas DuToit was converted from loosehead to tighthead, to accommodate Beast at the Sharks.

Oostuizen also started as a loosehead, but he moved to tighthead after a medical operation. He could no longer play at loosehead, as it hurt his back or something.

Oosthuizen battled at 3, and at the same time, his game in the tight-loose also deteriorated. I think he is finished at the international level,
and Thomas DuToit would be a better backup at loosehead.

Disappointing useless Mostert is retained but I guess Lood is not yet match fit. At least we see tiny Kwagga dropped for the more physical Wiese Makes absolutely no sense at all that the bench contains Kwagga and Marco given they similar players. Would have made more sense retaining Elstadt despite him being at best solid The squad only contains two looseheads in Kitshoff and Ox so with one injured I guess it had to be Nyakane or Thomas moving back to loosehead on the bench

Well I guess there is only Mostert left to blame….maybe Bongi. The Great Erasmus knows this so he has to be pretty convinced Mostert is his best option.

I guess when you are money on defence and money in the lineouts that keeps you in the team. Especially when passing the ball twice to Lomp netted a negative 11 metres.

I don't know why SA is obsessed with Swing props, we don't need them

Allow

Nyakane, Thomas, Du Toit, Ox and Kitshoff as our bok loose head prop stock

Koch, Louw and Malherbe as our Tight heads

Thomas the tank is a monster of man, great ball carrier and would love to see him come off the bench.

I also think the bok pack looks a bit lost without Proudfoot

There used to be a place in rugby for the swing prop but sadly, since they upped the bench and enforced two props among the replacement, that special player is no longer required. Rugby's loss.

Not much of an improvement. The loose trio isn't better, the front row is a big if. Weak bench again.

Oh for crying out loud - why on earth did Rassie elevate Lood over Mostert during the WC - because he is the far better option for the most obvious reason - he is bigger and far more physical The only reason Mostert is starting now is because RG is injured and Lood is only just back playing, so is unfortunately clearly not match fit yet. Therein lies your problem - you credit Mostert with line outs and tackling - wow Pity none of his tackling is the physical big hit, he is great at nice low tackles like a centre because he can’t impose himself physically. No mention of a locks other primary functions being clear outs and carrying the ball in traffic where Mostert scored a big fat zero. Our strength is physicality why concede that by selecting powder puff Mostert

Ask the Great Erasmus who had no problem playing Pollard and Kolosi when just back. An empty excuse, the genius clearly sees what you don’t.
