Ok Moz here goes
The Puma try? You mean the shambolic defending of Steph? I know the one. Must be more accurate when referencing these things.
PS: How was that "tackle" on Isi? "Pure class"?
No, it is an open platform. I read and corrected your errors. If you're going to take on Moz, you had better edit those out.
Get over it.
Puma's played well..............
Dave
Don't worry - when any of the players the Idiots support fouls up somebody else must be blamed for the foul-up, The deceit is normally started by Mozart and the carried on by AO and Pakie. The list is endless - but fact is Mostert is known for being to slow and physically weak to make open-field tackles and it is not the first case of such poor a tackle attempt made as was the case iro of the Sanchez break.
Mozart started the BS and di d not mention a word about the feeble and poor Mostert attempt at a tackle, Farcical- but true, .
Dave
The Schreuder story is just one of many of the same kind of AO BS such as -
* Kirchner is a better full back than Folau,
* Morne is on par with Carter as a flyhalf
* Mohoje at flank perfor better than McCaw.
You are dealing with a weirdo he re,
I never picked Schreuder ahead of Faf. Who is the liar?
Beaten by the video which exposed you as the liar! How emabrassing for you defending Lood's missed tackle on Isa. Now you drive off the cliff with your partner in crime Damme Lügnerin. Sort of like the defence of JJ. This is all too familiar.
@Lügnerin: Three lies in one. What did I say? Kirchner was better than Folau in the 2013 RC - something unanimously accepted by the Aussie media. It was Pakie who commented on Morné several years ago, and you accused him of rating Morné better than Carter. In your old age you or a slip of the forked tongue, you then used that against me. I've never even ranked Morné the best South African 10 - that would be Butch. As per Mohoje? I've only ever commented on his Ellis Park test of 2014. I said he was better than McCaw in that one test.
How humiliating! What have we learned today? Never let that web of lies get out of hand or one is liable to get caught in their own web!
Mozart
Du Toit has more smarts in his pinky than Etzebeth and Vemeulen combined in their whole bodies. He is normally near wherever the ball goes resulting from own team or opposition action. And he is really the first player covering tackle breakdowns. Another heap of BS engineered by you. So lets get down to it, Burger was in his youth excellent in following the ball and turn up unexpectedly and cause problems for the opposition.
He lost that ability as a result of injury. Du Toit is the nearest player we had to the Burger young player than I have ever seen in the team for the last 15 years. However, you a re too blinded by prejudice to see and comprehend his real role and understand his performances.
How many balls did he protect and he has recovered opposition breakdown balls in games as well. When I read this kind of BS I am amazed about what you actually imagining to see in games that others do not see, You are talking nonsense and when others see what really is going on and post media reports you blame them with hype - is it not time you clear up your own silly prejudice and start seeing what really happens?
Mozart
What you see is totally warped and deliberately distorted - so we have all the same stories about the same players all the time - while the real poor performances and flops by your favourites you are trying to hide away, Bad news and not getting any better on your part.
Steph is the Serfontein of forwards, caught between two positions he cannot make his own because of physical limitations. I'll say this though, Serf is a much smarter rugby player. Steph is the classic Saffer, very emotional and passive. He had two big games last year. That was it. He will never be the best player in the world at any position. His ranking as the 17th best flank in super rugby matches his output for the Boks. We can very easily live without him in the side. In fact, I am convinced that Mostert at 7 is our best option. I'd take Dan du Preez over him at 7. We have better options. Steph was merely hyped because of his age at a time when the media resented the veterans Meyer had to call in. A need made pressing by the failure of the youth of the time. There was also the bitter Mark Andrews taking a swipe at Victor; Steph was his pawn of choice.
Mostert Is about twIce as physIcal as pap VIctor ever was!.VIctor could catch a ball and very lvttle else. He was even lIfted In the scrums so all he had to do was catch the ball. Hence the long sufferIng BakkIes sayIng - "VIctor doesn't always play In the backlIne"
Steph Is more physIcal and faster than Mostert. An altogether superIor athlete. Why the heck do you thInk an astute guy lIke Mallet says Steph Is possIbly the best 7 In world rugby. That should gIve you pause to thInk. Steph 120 kg. Mostert 112kg. Mostert cant play 7 as has been shown already.
Sorry cant take your comments serIously. Your puttIng Schreuder ahead of Jantjes Is another weIrd comment.
Enough Huffer too many poor calls.
You call me an idiot, yet Steph has been bouncing around two positions for four years. Where was Serfontein? Bouncing between 12 and 13. Too small and weak for 12 and a little cumbersome for 13. You and Lügnerin make quite the pair!
I stated Schreuder ahead of Herschel. You keep drawing the short straw 'ol chap.
Mozart
Believe me I would rather respect you as a person than discuss rugby issues with you. I have been rather nasty about some of your comments on site,
I think the main problem is that you study games with the objective to find fault with certain players you dislike and find reasons to cover up mistakes made by players you favour. This has been going on for years - the first ones I can remember is how you try and excuse Morne Steyn on site against all criticism.
However, the main problem is that what you say should have happened is physically impossible to happen. Take for instance the Barrett try in the 2015 WC semi. Nonu got the ball with De Allende about 8 meters away, He started running diagonally across the field and you claim De Allende should have cut him off from doing so. Fact is when that type of thing happens it is not the player directly opposite Nonu who could cut him off - it is players to the outside pf De Allende who should have to cut hum off. For De Allende to do so he would cover that distance be at least 40% faster than Nonu in pace or should have wings to fly ahead of Nonu. That story is persistent on site and I asked a coach what should happen in such a case and he trold me exactly what I wrote above, If the famous "cutting off should have been done by one of three people outside of De Allende - the outside center, the wing or the full back. This point has been repeated ad infinitum on site, I think you made a mistake in raising the issue - the empty heads on site took it up and keep on without even understanding what really happened.
The other issue is your enthusiasm for some players is also questionable. Take for instance the game on Saturday. Steyn made a bu gger-up with a kick out of hand being charged down, The opponent got the ball and Steyn succeeded in ankle tapping him, Brilliant it was not as stated by you. But after the ankle tap players joined in the resultant breakdown and the Springboks were penalized. A corner kick followed and under pressure it ended up with a try by Matera, Steyn made a rather flimsy attempt to tackle Matera and was unsuccessful, The negative should be Steyn and the "Brilliant: comment a bit of a joke.
Anther example is the Sanchez break in the RC test - your whole comment was on Du Toit- not a word about the fact that Mostert missed a tackle on Sanchez. Fact is that similar missed tackles by Mostert happened twice in the Wellington test in 2018. However, that being the case the real problem was the missed tackle - nothing else. Another aspect you have to bear in mind is that Erasmus asked the Lions earlier this year to play Mostert at 7 - same as he did with Du Toit. Mostert failed the test and reverted back to lock - his man problem being open field tackles. Du Toit also have problems in defense at times, but his open-field tackling is better than Mostert's. He is also much pacier than Mostert.
I can go on and refer to other incidents as well - but I think that the above illustrate the problems of the past,
Maybe both of us should calm down and not pick constantly at each others postings and say merely why we disagree without accusing each other of all kinds of things,.
I asked you about the GE issue in the USA and you have not responded at all, Any ideas from you on that one would be of great help.
PEACE MY FRIEND - WE NEED IT IN THE UPCOMING WC.
Ah yes, the mozroscope! Every time I've been unfortunate enough to see one of these things I have invariably thought to myself . . . this is either a very stupid person being biased or a very biased person being stupid.
Nothing funnier than seeing complete noobs like Omlett and Omellete opining on rugby. This is where you hear things like Louis Schreuder being added to the Springbok squad, Vinny Vunipola getting the nod ahead of his brothers Mako and Billy, Zane Kirchner a better fullback than Israel Folau and "Cheslin Kolbe is not a test wing . . . but I was the first to discover him!"
LMAO!
It's hard to imagine two more ignorant rugby noobs than Omlett and Omellete . . . but they do add a lot of comedy value to the board.
Oom Mike, I think you should stop trying to have Mozart endorse your views and the players you like...or actually, you should stop caring what his views are on rugby whatsoever ...you two, and Auge by extension are at an impasse and the only reasonable way out is to stop responding...tough ask, I know. I can't keep my mouth either whenever Trad or Rooi mouths off...very difficult not to take bait...but whatever, as long as you still enjoy things' all is still OK it seems.
There is nothing funnier than ou rooibozo not realising he is the joke! H ahahahahahhahahaha
An interesting parallel here is Beauden Barrett's try in 2013 - the infamous JJ missed tackle, but where Jean got the most flack from certain quarters for shooting out of line and leaving th e gap. This is almost identical to what happened in the Sanchez/Steph/Mostert case.
First, the Argentina situation: again, the red Steph is an insert I made to show where Steph would have been had he not shot out of line - exactly in the spot that Sanchez targets.
Now 2013. Here we can see Jean shooting up and, just like in the case of Steph shooting up against Argentina, that leaves a gap in behind him for the carrier to exploit. Barrett does so, just like Sanchez does. He runs into the same space just vacated by the player shooting out of line.
The inside defender (Morne here, Mostert against Argentina) now needs to make a lateral tackle on a faster player moving away from them.
Jean caught more flack than JJ for his role in this try, especially from Dave's quarter. Here is Dave's comments back then:
First offender was Jean and his pathetic rush.......if you rush you best
make sure you execute the tackle, for by rushing to break the defensive
line.
By rushing (you) break the defensive line - exactly what Steph did. The double standard is obvious. The blond blue-eyed boy can do no wrong.
Jean caught flack, but it was also an opportunity to attack Morné, even though Barrett ran away from Morné towards JJ. Morné was eyeing that pod inside and called for more defenders on his side of the ruck. In some way, the sacrificial lamb, like Mostert.
Either way, good reference. Steph is caught out like this very often. Watch the Wellington test last year. He is reckless and too reactive. Just as Jean did here. I've never seen Steph being held accountable for one defensive lapse in the media. No balance. Only the hero tackles are brought into view.
Interesting that noone thought to critique Thor. They went straight for Mostert and Mostert alone.
I doubt Vermeulen was ever close enough to make a tackle. By the time he had stopped and turned Sanchez was all but past him.
Pakie
What about an even more blatant case - Steyn in the case of the Foley try, Everyone deni ed that he was not many meters out of line - but where was he?
The question is simple - was Steyn out of line or not? Everyone with eyes ain their head realizes he was - so what is your answer? Where did Steyn end up?
How was he out of line? What are you on about?
Steyn is marking Foley, forcing him to pass to Toomua, marked and tackled by Kriel. What don't you understand about this basic defensive setup?
Here is your claim on the other thread:
No dimness when Foley ran past Steyn he assed the ball to Beale and the latter was in the clear.
Now kindly explain to me how the fuck can Foley run past Steyn to put Beale in the clear when he has passed the ball to Toomua?
Thor wasn't close enough, but he had a better chance than Mostert to get to Sanchez. It was unrealistic that Mostert would ever catch Sanchez whilst he was running away from him. Therefore extremely harsh to to nail Mostert over either Steph or Thor!
