Meyer is an idiot!

The Springbok team for this Saturday should have been....

1. Beast and Coenie Oostuizen and Trevor Nyakane and Kitshoff

2. Adriaan Strauss and Kyle Cooper and Scarra Ntubeni and Callie Visagie

3. Coenie Oosthuizen and Marcell van der Merwe and Frans Malherbe and Brian Mujati

4. Eben Etsebeth and Lood de Jager and Flip vd Merwe and Willemse

5. PSDT and Lewies and .... (fill in a few other names here)

6. Brussouw and Marcell Coetzee and Deon Fourie and Luke Watson

7. Jacques du Plessis and Labuscagne and ..... etc

8. Vermeulen vd Walt and

9. Reinach and Hougaard and Groom and Sarel Pretorius

10. Goosen and Lambie and Pollard and Elton Jantjies

AND YOU GET MY DRIFT....

The following players must never again play for the Boks:

Jannie du Plessis, Guthro Steenkamp, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Schalk Burger, Willem Alberts, Fourie du Preez, Morne Steyn, Frans Steyn, Juan de Jongh, Zane Kirchner,

Just a few minor details the player touts seem to forget:

  1. only 15 players are allowed on the field
  2. Not every second player that plays in the S15/CC/Vodacom Cup is "Springbok Quality"
  3. At stages, this year, up to 7 seven Cheetahs players have been touted as "Springbok" quality. Yet the Cheetahs are the 15th placed team out of 15... How would such a team beat the All Blacks????
  4. Victor Matfield's experienced showed in the S15, when his involvement at the Bulls made a huge difference to their campaign
  5. Morne Steyn's departure at the Bulls meant they had no-one who could control a game or distribute the ball properly, so that Serfontein and JJ looked absolutely poor on attack this year so far (Just look at the try scoring record of the Bulls back-line this year - non-existent)
  6. Compare the performances of any other 9 to that of du Preez

But yes, I agree, if you take only the youngsters and load the team with them, you would probably need 60 of them on the field to be on par with the All Blacks...

Dream on fools... Most of you will probably have quite a few more heart problems while Meyer is coach. Despite the fact that he is the coach with the best winning percentage in the professional era!

(At the same time the general uninformed Springbok fans however appear to have the best whining record....)

You forgot to add that Esterhuizen is to blame for all missed tackles and Tries scored hereafter and it is best to comment having not seen any of the matches.
And you must never budge one inch from your perceived factual analysis whether it is correct or not ( particularly if you have not watched any of the matches in question . That is very important.)
And you must continue your argument until your opponent loses the will to live

What we get is how fucking stupid you are and how pathetic your take on everything is, no more so than the childish take on only being able to play 15 players at once – grow the fuck up you lame twat.

Our depth of young talent has never been better but our ignorant coach thinks otherwise, he appears to share the same pathetic and conservative view you do.

The Cheetahs ended up in the play offs last year, so are you maintaining that said Cheetahs players have become shit in under a year you ignorant prick?

What exactly has Matfield provided other than an old man looking way out of place and a complete liability in the engine room – let me guess the odd line-out ball and kick off received – wow

Good old Morne – that about sums your conservatism up. Serfontein and JJ received little ball under Morne and the same applies without him – it’s the poor Bulls way – its hardly breaking news – catch a bloody wake up

What exactly has du Preez done huh, kicked the crap out of the ball…….not made a single break, so what exactly are we comparing him to? Fact is he has done NOTHING of note

What you need to do is catch a fucking wake up – if you honestly think Meyer geriatric Boks are going to challenge the Aussies and Kiwi’s this year, you are even more bloody ignorant and stupid than you actually appear.

The current state of Bok rugby is insulting under Meyer and yes you are spot on he is an idiot, much like you are

Bringing guys past their best and certainly no prospects for the future is so stupid it's embarrassing...reminds of the John Smit saga...it's very sad for the players too...Smitty was one of my heroes but he overstayed...Matfield,Bakkies and Schalk similar path.

The sad thing too is there so much depth and talent out there...it's mindboggling the selfish and staid attitude of conservative saffa coaches...wonder who Jake would choose if he was given the chance?

Nobody in his right mind would choose Victor Matfield - especially looking at his contribution in tight phases of play.  Other than in line outs - where any decent lock would take the same number of line outs Matfield does - the rest of his contribution is zero-minus.
In driving mauls he is plucked out easily - landing on the side and then joining  the moving mauls again pretending that he is making a contribution.  Incidentally somebody using his hands and not his shoulders are not really contributing anything much in rolling maul situations and that is what Matfield is doing.
You shout and scream about the number of tackles Matfield made last week - but the quality of tackling was very average.  The week before in 40 minutes  De Jager made as many tackles as Matfield did in 89 minutes and his tackles were strong - forcing players back and getting possession turnovers.

Matfield is way to weak physically to be effective as a tight 5 player - he according to his own book weighs circa 106-7 kgs - ie between 10 snd 20 kgs less than present locks generally weighs.   They will just push him out of the way and that would mean the Springboks will always be on the back foot with him around.   Wait till the RC and the shit will hit the fan.
In th last test his wqork rate was in fact low - standing around the back of mauls and not entering it to help in recovering of balls.
All the above would pass you by - because Matfield takes line out balls on own throw and catch a few kick ins that comes his way.     So keep on dreaming that Matfield, Bakkies Botha and the Stade Francais bench player is the answer to SA rugby progress.   Some day you may end up finding out they are not - but before then you will blame all other players for the failures of those 3.

Assertions....minute 38.29 Victor smashes over a Welsh forward with power....fact.

He j ust takes lineouts like they don't count....Boks get a whole lot of lineouts at the end of the half....Victor takes them like clockwork. The only one not thrown to Victor we lose....Fact.

 The Troooth Fairy

"Victor Matfield's experienced showed in the S15, when his involvement at the Bulls made a huge difference to their campaign."

BALLS  - the dfference was when the Bulls started playing a funbctionaal flyhalf - bot Fouche.  The backline started to function better and that made a huge difference to the performances of the Bulls.

"Morne Steyn's departure at the Bulls meant they had no-one who could control a game or distribute the ball properly, so that Serfontein and JJ looked absolutely poor on attack this year so far (Just look at the try scoring record of the Bulls back-line this year - non-existent)"

It is surprising how some Bulls supporters keep on touting Morne as a flyhalf - when the Stade Francais coach saw after two matches what he waqs about and from then played him from the bench.   Useless and clueless that one.   He was horribly poor in the 2nd Welsh test and buggered up almost as much  as he did in the Eden Park and Ellis Park tests last year.   The sooner any team is rid of that guy - the better it is for that team.  The Bulls struggled when their regular back up flyhalf failed and when they found a proper replacement - he did better than Morne did.     Dream on about Morne though - but reasionable people wish the French would keep him in France.

The last time Matfield smashed a player was when he played under 19 rugby against 17 year olds.  He smashes nobody.   He tackles them .  The example you quoted - did the Welsh lost possession of the ball after Matfield "smashed" their player in the tackle?  Yes - or No?  When a tackled player is smashed is when their is a ball turnover linked to a tackle.
Line out takes - no argument - but would other platers have taken those line outs and contributed much more to general play?   Yes or No?
Did you notice that Matfield stand around at the back of mauls without contributing anything to mauls and ball recovery?  Yes or No?
Don't come back with rubbish - prove what really happens.

Matdield - running with the ball.  Did he make 2 meters progress after smashing over a Welsh player?   Go back and consult the stats again - - thick plank.

Matfield and Bakkies were of course never useless but now far over their best and from now on a downward spiral...why is this an issue when we have a line-up of some of the best locks in the world...Etzebeth, PSDT,Lood,Lewies,Bresler etc...should never be an issue.

If Jake chose Victor I'd conclude that he had learnt nothing from his stint as Bok coach and would not be worthy of a recall

"....when the Stade Francais coach saw after two matches what he waqs about and from then played him from the bench.   Useless and clueless that one."

The reality is that the Stade you seem to admire the Stade Francais coach but have you actually thought about it? At one stage they were actually at the top of the Top 14 log. At that stage he was rotating Morne and Plisson. Stade started slipping down the log during the latter parts of the competition.  Coincidently, it was after they started slipping down that you noticed and started raving about the fact that Plisson was getting the most of the game time. In the end the Stade Francais coach saw his club settling down in 7th place and just made it to the play-off games against London Wasps.

In the play-off game against Wasps at home, Morne played the majority of the game and Stade narrowly lost to Wasps by one point.

In the return game which was a home game for  Stade, they were humiliated by Wasps in their own backyard. Plisson was the FH. The entire second half  the commentators keep on  asking why Stade is not bring on Morne because Plisson was costing them the game. He kepton trying to  run them out of the shit from inside the Stade 22m. Not playing Steyn more, cost them dearly in the end. You don't have to believe my. Watch the game. It is on You Tube.

 Ceradyne
Lets be quite frank - I know Stade Francis was on top of the log early on.  Then a few players were called up for national duty (Plisson included) and when they returned Stade Francais was at no 6 on the log.
After return Morne became the Stade Francais bench player.   Basically Morne buggered up so badly that it was a major reason for sliding down on the log.   Playing Morne cost them more dearly than anything else.   You cannot play a clueless and robotic flyhalf and expect anything positive.
I saw ne game where Stade Francais had a bonus point lead.   They had to prevent the opposing team to score a try.  At minute 72 Morne came on.  By minute 75 Morne had kicked another of his clueless kicks - the opponents got hold of the ball and scored a try.  Tata bomus point
Whaetever you say Morne is and will remain the Stade Francais bench player.   If he played as badly for them as he played for the Springboks in the second Welsh test  - he will spend the rest of his contract warming the bench.

You are going to get your ass kicked again if you start trying to talk about French rugby that you hardly ever watch. Maybe it is for your own good to refrain.

Actually, if my memory serves me well, Dave had Habana as  "past it"....Habana of  course has since gone on to score another bag full of tries for the Boks.
